Black Ops 6 Zombies DLC 2 offers an exhilarating boss fight at the end of the main Easter Egg. Players can quickly defeat the boss on “The Tomb” when using specific weapons, the ice staff and more. Considering the scale of boss fights that Black Ops 6 has offered thus far, it’s no surprise that DLC 2 is providing another challenging boss fight for hardcore zombies fans. Here’s the best way to complete The Tomb boss fight in Season 2:

How The Tomb Boss Fight Works

Once you complete all steps of The Tomb Easter Egg, walk across the bridge in the Dark Aether Nexus and interact with the Sentinel Artifact to begin the Boss Fight Lockdown.

The Sentinel Artifact will spin around, up and down in the air until eventually the red beam turns blue. Once then happens shoot the Sentinel Artifact until it breaks, complete this 2/3 more times until special glowing red enemies start spawning. Upon defeating them, they will drop a Sentinel Artifact which can also be broken. Repeat until the Sentinel Artifact health has about an 8th of health left.

Once entering the final phase, all duplicated Sentinel Artifacts will beam into one of them at the top of the stairs. You MUST shoot to defeat the Sentinel Artifact or else the game will end and your entire team will be wiped. If completed, congratulations!

BEST THE TOMB BOSS LOADOUT

Primary Weapon – High Ammo Capacity

Any Weapon with a HIGH Magazine Capacity will be good for the final lockdown. This includes LMGs, Assault Rifles with Extended Mag 2, or Select SMGs with Extended Mag 2.

The ASG shotgun however, is the absolute strongest weapon against the sentinel artifact.

A strategy, which is currently unpatched, utilizes the ice staff and hand canon, which can instantly kill all SPECIAL enemy types. More details below.

Primary Weapon – ASG, Shotgun with Full Choke Muzzle, Reinforced Barrel, Ranger Foregrip, Extended Mag II, Light Stock, Steady Aim Laser and Rapid Fire Fire Mod.
Any Light Machine Gun with High Ammo capacity is also useful against the Sentinel Artifact.
Melee Weapon – Any
Equipment – Decoy Grenades/Kazimirs and Semtex/Molotov
Field Upgrade – Healing Aura, Frenzied Guard, Aether Shroud
Gobblegum Pack(s) – Near Death Experience, Idle Eyes, Reign Drops
Wonder Weapon – Ice Staff or Raygun (Recommended). Neither wonder weapon can do damage to the Sentinel Artifact, but are great for crowd control

Once a player is in the Boss Fight, here’s a breakdown of how each phase works:

SENTINEL ARTIFACT BOSS

As the Boss Fight begins, the Sentinel Artifact will circle around the center of the boss fight arena & fire a laser. This laser beam can deal a lot of damage. After circling a few times, the Artifact will become solid & glow purple. Deal as much damage as possible to it.
After dealing enough damage to the Artifact, it will split into two, go in circles, & fire laser beams. After enough time, the Artifacts will become purple & able to be damaged.
Once you’ve damaged the Artifacts enough, they’ll each split into two more Artifacts, leaving you with four Artifacts. They will begin to spin around & fire laser beams. After avoiding them, they’ll each begin glowing purple & can be damaged yet again.
After dealing enough damage to the four Artifacts, a fifth Artifact will spawn & infuse itself with a newly spawned Armored Zombie. This will empower the Zombie, making it far more dangerous, health & damage-wise. Kill it & the Artifact will drop & glow purple. Deal damage to the Artifact while it’s glowing.
Once sufficient damage has been dealt to the fifth Artifact, a sixth one will spawn in. This one will infuse with a Doppleghast that spawns in. Similar to the Armored Zombie, the Doppleghast will be similar to an HVT. Kill it & the Artifact will drop. Inflict enough damage to it while it’s glowing purple.
The sixth Artifact down, onto the seventh. This seventh Artifact will spawn & infuse with a Shock Mimic. As you have with the other enemies, kill this HVT Shock Mimic & it will drop the Artifact. Deal enough damage to the Artifact while it’s glowing purple.
One Artifact to go. This eighth Artifact that spawns in will infuse to an Amalgam that spawns in. Easily one of the hardest enemies to kill on their own, let alone when they’re infused with an Artifact. Kill the Amalgam & damage the glowing Artifact it drops until completion.
After completing the eighth Artifact, the Primary Sentinel Artifact will prepare a wipe attack. It will make its’ way to the back of the arena while it’s charging this attack. Lay down constant fire on it to ensure it doesn’t charge up & unleash its’ final blow attack.

EASY BOSS FIGHT STRATEGY

It’s recommended that players run Aether Shroud with the group shroud (co op) burst dash (solo) and extra charge augments, which gives players a stress free opportunity to damage the artifact.

PATCHED AS OF FEBRUARY 3RD, 2025: If you take a hand canon out while an ice staff charged shot is active, it’ll insta-kill any special enemies that enter the frost blast zone.

Using the ASG against the artifact will do max damage, lowering the boss health bar faster than any other weapon.

Idle eyes gives players a chance to focus on the artifact, risk free if Aether Shroud isn’t available.

Players should stay downstairs in the tunnels while running clockwise or counter clockwise if they get overwhelmed in a co op game. Solo players may not need to move at all with the strategy mentioned above.

When all phases are done successfully, the Artifact will then head to the center of the arena & merge with the Amulet. With that, you’ve now completed the Boss Fight! Claim the Artifact!
