The Tomb has finally been unsealed here in Black Ops 6 Season 2! DLC 2 for Black Ops 6 Zombies brings us deep into an ancient excavation site. Today, we’re going over the how to complete “The Tomb”s Easter Egg. We’ll also be covering the easiest way to complete Easter Egg steps for your convenience, & the rewards you can earn for completion. Here’s all you need to know on completing the main Easter Egg for “The Tomb” in Black Ops 6 Zombies!
Opening the Door to Nowhere
Progress through the Map and follow the objective markers until you come across a Podium. Place the Amulet on the Podium, and it will open the Door to Nowhere. Upon entry, Sir Archibald will say a few quotes about the Dark Aether Nexus. This is where Pack-a-Punch will be initially (but moves around the map) and Juggernog. Walking up to the far side of the Dark Aether will play a quote about the Sentinel Artifact, giving us a look at the Boss Fight Arena.
Obtain Sir Archibald’s Monocle
Defeating a ‘Shock Mimic’ will drop this Quest Item, the first Mimic usually spawns around Round 10, but you could get it early. Once defeating a Shock Mimic, the Monocle will drop where it died. Pick it up.
Obtain the Ice Staff
The Ice Staff can be obtained through the Mystery Box or its designated build quest.
How to Build the Ice Staff
Once you’ve obtained the Monocle from the Shock Mimic, shoot Aetheric Lanterns one at a time, & direct it towards Tombs. Guide the Aetheric Lantern until it’s Infront of the bull mural. If done correctly, Roman Numerals will spawn on the wall. Shoot them in numerical order to form a Taurus constellation. After doing so, a lockdown will trigger. Successful completion of this will award you with a staff piece.
Once completing the Lockdown, head over to the Neolithic Catacombs and shoot/guide the Aetheric Lanterns towards the front of an archer depiction. The Roman Numerals will spawn again. Once again, shoot the Roman Numerals in numerical order form an Orion constellation start a lockdown. Completion of this will award you with another staff piece.
Once both lockdowns are completed, you will now be able to build the Ice Staff on the center rock formation on the mound top in the Dark Aether Nexus. Finish one final lockdown in here & protect the Ice Staff from Zombies. Once completed, you’ll be able to pick up the Ice Staff.
How to Upgrade the Ice Staff
Once you’ve built the Ice Staff, you can begin its upgrade quest. Shoot 3 Aetheric Lanterns with the Ice Staff quickly (roughly 7-10 seconds), & this will trigger a quote from Sir Archibald. After hearing the quote, head into the Dark Aether Nexus and shoot 3 floating rocks with the Ice Staff. These rocks will have specific symbols on them.
One of the 4 Portals will close after doing this. What you’ll want to do is head to the opposite side of the closed portal & shoot those same symbols as the ones displayed on the rocks you shot down earlier. The portal previously closed will reopen & you’ll want to go through it. Once you’ve entered the portal, you’ll find a purple orb. Interact with the orb & it will be set into motion.
Follow the purple orb while killing enemies to keep it charged. It’s a soul box in a way. Continually kill enemies to charge it. You have a very small window between souls filling the orb & failing the step. Once following it all the way around, it’ll end where you crafted the Ice Staff initially. Now, the Ice Staff will be upgraded!
The Statues
Vermin Statue
Take your upgraded Ice Staff into the Dark Aether Nexus & use a Revive Blast on the Vermin Statue. After doing this, interact with the statue & head through the blue portal & over to the Dig Site to interact with that same Vermin Statue. This will begin a lockdown & soul box. This will spawn an ensemble of Vermin to kill. After wasting all the Vermin, run back to the Vermin Statue back within the Dark Aether Nexus & interact with the statue, without being hit. It seems you can’t be hit more than twice, or the challenge will be reset.
Parasite Statue
Similar to the Vermin Statue step, you’ll want to shoot the Parasite Statue within the Dark Aether Nexus with the Ice Staff Revive Blast. Interact with it & make your way through the yellow portal over the Shrine of the Heirophants. Interact with the Parasite Statue to initiate another lockdown with Parasites. As you kill them, they will drop essence orbs you must pick up & bring to the statue. Once finished, make your way back to the Dark Aether Nexus, all while avoiding being hit. Once you return to the Nexus, interact with the Parasite Statue.
Doppleghast Statue
Just like the last 2 statues before it, head into the Dark Aether Nexus & shoot the Doppleghast statue with the Revive Blast of the Ice Staff & interact with it. Make your way through the green portal over to the Ossuary & interact with the Doppleghast statue to begin a lockdown. This time, the lockdown will consist of Doppleghasts. Kill them & hurry back to the statue within the Nexus. Avoid being hit & interact with the statue. One more to go.
Amalgam Statue
For the final statue, head back into the Dark Aether Nexus & blast the statue with a Revive Shot from the Ice Staff. Interact with the statue & make your way through the red portal to the Subterranean Temple. Initiate the lockdown with the Amalgam & kill it. Just as before, make your way back to the Dark Aether Nexus without being hit & interact with the statue. After completing this final statue, there will be a platform with the Artifact on it to interact with. This will teleport you & begin:
BOSS FIGHT
- As the Boss Fight begins, the Sentinel Artifact will circle around the center of the boss fight arena & fire a laser. This laser beam can deal a lot of damage. After circling a few times, the Artifact will become solid & glow purple. Deal as much damage as possible to it.
- After dealing enough damage to the Artifact, it will split into two, go in circles, & fire laser beams. After enough time, the Artifacts will become purple & able to be damaged.
- Once you’ve damaged the Artifacts enough, they’ll each split into two more Artifacts, leaving you with four Artifacts. They will begin to spin around & fire laser beams. After avoiding them, they’ll each begin glowing purple & can be damaged yet again.
- After dealing enough damage to the four Artifacts, a fifth Artifact will spawn & infuse itself with a newly spawned Armored Zombie. This will empower the Zombie, making it far more dangerous, health & damage-wise. Kill it & the Artifact will drop & glow purple. Deal damage to the Artifact while it’s glowing.
- Once sufficient damage has been dealt to the fifth Artifact, a sixth one will spawn in. This one will infuse with a Doppleghast that spawns in. Similar to the Armored Zombie, the Doppleghast will be similar to an HVT. Kill it & the Artifact will drop. Inflict enough damage to it while it’s glowing purple.
- The sixth Artifact down, onto the seventh. This seventh Artifact will spawn & infuse with a Shock Mimic. As you have with the other enemies, kill this HVT Shock Mimic & it will drop the Artifact. Deal enough damage to the Artifact while it’s glowing purple.
- One Artifact to go. This eighth Artifact that spawns in will infuse to an Amalgam that spawns in. Easily one of the hardest enemies to kill on their own, let alone when they’re infused with an Artifact. Kill the Amalgam & damage the glowing Artifact it drops until completion.
- After completing the eighth Artifact, the Primary Sentinel Artifact will prepare a wipe attack. It will make its’ way to the back of the arena while it’s charging this attack. Lay down constant fire on it to ensure it doesn’t charge up & unleash its’ final blow attack.
If done successfully, the Artifact will then head to the center of the arena & merge with the Amulet. With that, you’ve now completed the Boss Fight! Claim the Artifact!
