Call of Duty players have been receiving surveys in their emails as of late. This comes from Call of Dutys’ latest addition, Call of Duty Recon Squad. These surveys vary in subject, opinion, & impact moving forward in the franchise. Today, we’re going to take a brief look at what new surveys are making the rounds in players emails & what it could mean for the future of Call of Duty. Here’s what you need to know:
What is Call of Duty Recon Squad?
Call of Duty recently created a new way of gathering feedback from players through the Recon Squad. This new feature Call of Duty has created aims to send out surveys to random players throughout the COD Community. Questions for these surveys are random & as stated before, are sent out to random individuals in the community to garner feedback as well as see interest in future additions/projects.
With completed participation in these surveys, you could earn in-game rewards to claim & use in BO6 & Warzone. For our coverage of what COD Recon Squad is, as well as rewards you can earn, check it out HERE.
New Potential Titles

A new survey sent out to players through the Call of Duty: Recon Squad email system has asked players which NEW Call of Duty entry would interest them the most. There are four answers provided for players to choose from for the question, with responses consisting of the following:
Option 1 – New Sequel
Now this option poses the idea of players getting a new sequel linked to a NON-Modern Warfare or Black Ops title within the franchise. A few titles that immediately come to mind would be Call of Duty: Ghosts, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, or Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Ideally, any of these games could be candidates for a sequel, though all would be interesting to see fan reception.
Call of Duty: Ghosts fits the bill for needing a Campaign sequel, as well as expanding on the Extinction Mode. However, there have been surges for Advanced Warfare & Infinite Warfare to receive sequels as well.

Option 2 – New Title
The second option is a brand-new title to the franchise. This would be a NON-sequel to any previous titles released Call of Duty’s past. A perfect example of a new & non-linked title would be Call of Duty: Vanguard or Call of Duty: World War 2. At the time of their releases, Vanguard or WW2 weren’t connected to any previous entries in the Call of Duty franchise.
Players may also be experiencing burnout after only playing Black Ops or Modern Warfare titles for the past few years, so a new title could be a refreshing experience. Speculation for either a game fully featuring the Vietnam or Korean War, as well as other time periods have been tossed around.
Option 3 – Black Ops
Now the third option covers a new Black Ops title. With the release of Black Ops 6 this past year, players are also on the potential verge of another Black Ops title releasing later this year. This title being Black Ops 7, or whatever new title Call of Duty comes up with for it. We have plenty of coverage regarding the rumors & speculation regarding the latest Black Ops title we could see in 2025.
Though, it’s also possible it refers to a Black Ops title that releases sometime after Black Ops 7, somewhere in the franchise’s future. With or without the current crop of characters, Black Ops titles always garner interest & excitement from the community. With the potential release of Black Ops 7 so near, it’s unlikely this survey will affect its’ launch.
Option 4 – Modern Warfare
The final option presents players with a brand-new Modern Warfare title. A new Modern Warfare entry that would reunite players with TF-141 & their mission to keep enemies on their heels at any given time. Rumors & leaks have suggested we’ll be seeing a new Modern Warfare title in 2027. We also have coverage of rumors & speculations surrounding a 2027 release. As previously stated with Black Ops, if a new title is set to release in 2027, this survey would likely do little to change that.
However, it could refer to Modern Warfare projects that come later in the franchise. Possibly the fan-favorite character of Alejandro could get a spinoff game with more of his history. Maybe even an entry that reintroduces the Rangers or Delta Force, bringing back iconic characters such as Sgt. Foley or Sandman.

More Crossovers Confirmed
EXCLUSIVE | #CallofDuty Recon Surveys are asking players which Crossover they want to see:

The other surveys players have received are asking which crossovers they’d like to see. The Terminator & even Snoop Dogg were provided as examples to the question. They also provided a large black box for players to submit their requests in. Call of Duty is no stranger to crossovers as we’ve seen in recent years. We’re fresh off the heels of a massive TMNT Crossover, as well as Squid Game not long before. In recent years for example, we’ve seen:
- OPERATION MONARCH – Godzilla, Kong, & Mecha-Godzilla Operators
- SAW – Billy the Puppet Operator
- THE BOYS – Homelander, Firecracker, A-Train, Starlight, Black Noir Operators
- TOMB RAIDER – Lara Croft Operator
- SCREAM – Ghostface Operator
- DIABLO 4 – Lilith & Inarius Operators
- VARIOUS CELEBRITIES – Cheech & Chong, Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, etc.

With this new survey, Call of Duty is essentially seeing what crossover/crossovers the community wants next. There’s been many crossovers the community has requested for quite some time now. Some of those requests have been from all across the gaming, movie, & tv show universes. Various requests from the community have been some of the following:
- Master Chief
- Doom Guy
- John Wick
- Predator
- Alien
- Power Rangers
- Hitman
- Funny enough, even John Cena has been requested by some.
They could also release challenge events to earn some crossover skins for free, sort of building upon the free skins you’d get from recent event passes. A big thing that should be done moving forward is that there’s always free content to earn, alongside a potential or inevitable bundle. To add with that, potentially release an LTM themed around that licensed crossover.
Recent crossovers had massive events, such as Operation Monarch, adding both interactable Godzilla & Kong to the Warzone Caldera map. There was also 80’s Action Heroes, which added variated LTMs in the form of ‘Rambo’s Gun Game’, ‘Cranked 2: No Time to Crank’.
