Kowakujō Release Date in Black Ops 7 Zombies
Just like Totenreich before it, the latest map in BO7 Zombies will release in the Mid Season update for Season 4, or better known as Season 4 Reloaded. Based on the opening cinematic recently released, it was confirmed that Kowakujō will release on Thursday, June 25th, along with the rest the Season 4 Reloaded content.
Kowakujō Map Breakdown in Black Ops 7 Zombies Season 4 Reloaded
The crew has ventured into Feudal Japan, more specifically, Takeo’s family castle. The biggest catch of it all though, is that the castle lies as the bottom of an erupting volcano. So as you play Kowakujō, there will be multiple sections & places with hot steam vents, lava pools, & places where lava flows like a river.
We’re sure to find out more about Takeo’s history through the story time in Kowakujō. As most Japanese castles are, there will be elegant infrastructure making up the place, worn & torn from years of neglect & destruction. While the crew venture to reclaim the souls of Carver & Takeo & free the last ShadowSmith, they’ll also be searching for the world seed.
New Gameplay Content Coming to Kowakujō in Black Ops 7 Zombies
New Enemy – OnI
The latest teaser for Kowakujō shows what appears to be a new enemy within the map. Detailed as “Beware the eye of the OnI”, it appears to match the Onis of Japanese legend. It will likely be the new elite enemy of the map, similar to the Necropincer of Totenreich.
Given the new Gobblegum releasing in Season 4 Reloaded, we could also be seeing classic Hellhounds returning in Kowakujō. We’ve seen Rad-hounds in Paradox Junction, but the OG flaming hounds could return on the new map.
New Potential Boss
If we look back to Paradox Junction & all of the drawings around the map, you may have noticed one in particular. There is a drawing of a 3-headed dragon, surrounded by volcanoes in the background. This dragon could be the form that the final ShadowSmith takes in Kowakujō.
The ShadowSmith could also be the Dragon that was seen in the intro cinematic. It likely will fly around & perhaps breathe fire on different parts of the map, similar to Gorod Krovi. It could also potentially transform later on in the boss fight, revealing a more dangerous form.
New Wonder Weapon
As per usual with a new Zombies map, ell be receiving a new wonder weapon within Kowakujō. Based on the latest dev talk, the wonder weapon will be something we’ve never experienced in Zombies before. What would make an interesting twist would be a set of Japanese armor, turning you into a powerful knight of sorts.
Another neat side Easter egg would be to gain an additional remastered classic wonder weapon like the KT-4.
New Gobblegum

There’s also a new Gobblegum releasing with Season 4 Reloaded to aid you in Kowakujō. The Hell-ping Gobblegum willl summon a friendly Hellhound to battle alongside you.
