Modern Warfare 3 has had ample crossovers since it’s launch and it shows no signs of stopping soon. Currently, there’s a previous crossover that seems to be making a return in MW3… Godzilla and King Kong. Today, we will discuss the returning crossover and what was found that draws excitement for players who wish they had specific cosmetics from previous titles inside of Modern Warfare III. Ready to learn about the upcoming Godzilla x King Kong crossover returning inside of MWIII? Here’s what you need to know:
KING KONG “YEET” EXECUTION FOUND
Remember back during the Vanguard lifecycle when they had a season event tied around Godzilla x Kong? If you do, you’d remember the infamous execution the King Kong bundle had where you throw an enemy across the map. As of Season 1 Reloaded, the finisher is in the files, and the usual suspect on X/Twitter has found a way to use it in a private match! Credit to SemtexLeaks on X/Twitter for this information!
The finisher is currently under the codename of “Banana” which is very obviously a direct reference to King Kong. It’s almost the EXACT same finisher as before with a slight animation tweak. On top of this finisher, there are other executions found that are also codenamed by other types of fruit:
- Pineapple
- Plantain
- Plum
- Raspberry
- Strawberry
These are not accessible but are referenced, so keep an eye out for what they will look like in the future! These finishers could be apart of new cosplay bundles themed around Godzilla x Kong characters.
WHAT WE GOT BEFORE VERSUS WHAT’S NEXT
During the lifecycle of Vanguard, Call of Duty did a collaboration with Godzilla vs Kong which is a film that released that year. The event sadly didn’t add any content into the premium title, but offered Operation Monarch for Warzone, pinning Godzilla and Kong against real players as they roamed around Caldera.
Operation Monarch featured various in game challenges, allowing players to earn free rewards while playing the limited time mode featuring the monsters. Three monarch themed cosplay bundles also released, featuring themed skins and blueprints for Godzilla, King Kong and Mechazilla.
It’s likely the new Godzilla x King Kong event will offer similar gameplay opportunities for Warzone, cosplay themed bundles and potentially an update for MWIII Multiplayer.
