Modern Warfare 3 Editions, Benefits & Pre Order Explained

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 10th, 2023. Two different editions of MW3 are currently available for pre order, all of which contain different benefits in the game. Here are all versions of Modern Warfare III and the rewards that come with them.

KEY DATES FOR MODERN WARFARE 3

While pre ordering Modern Warfare 3 gives you access to multiple betas, here are some key dates to remember leading up to the full launch and beyond, later this year:

Beta weekend 1 (PS4/PS5) – October 6, 2023 – October 10, 2023
Beta weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – October 12, 2023 – October 16, 2023
Campaign Early Access (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 2, 2023
Full Release (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC) – November 10, 2023
Season 1 Launch / New Warzone Map – December 5, 2023

MW3 STANDARD CROSS GEN EDITION

As we saw with Modern Warfare 2 (2022), a standard and cross gen edition have been combined into one. If players choose to buy a physical copy of Modern Warfare III in stores, then it’ll also contain the base game for both Xbox generations, or the base game for both Playstation generations when buying for PS4. Buying a physical copy for PS5 won’t contain a copy for Playstation 4 though. The standard cross gen edition of Modern Warfare 3, physical and digital, will include the base game, early access to the Open Beta and Campaign, as well as other instant rewards for an MSRP of $69.99 or your regional equivalent. The Cross-Gen Bundle of Modern Warfare III is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Purchasing this version — or the Vault Edition — will give players access to the previous generation console version of Modern Warfare III (PlayStation 4 or Xbox One) and the current version for your platform (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S). When using a next-generation console, ensure you are playing that version of the game rather than the previous generation version, as both may be available for download in this Cross-Gen Bundle. For PC, its digital version is the Standard edition and is the only other version of Modern Warfare III outside of the Vault Edition for this platform. All PC versions can be purchased through Battle.net or Steam.

MW3 VAULT EDITION

First confirmed through the COD Merch shop and as seen with Modern Warfare II, a Vault edition for MW3 is releasing this fall. The Vault edition will contain everything listed in the Standard Cross Gen edition, on top of the following bonuses:

Nemesis Operator Pack (Skins For: Price, Ghost, Makarov, and Warden)
BlackCell (1 Season): 50 Tier Skips, BlackCell Battle Pass, and 1100 COD Points
