With the imminent release of Season 3 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone, players will soon have access to ‘Shattered Veil’, DLC 3 for Black Ops 6 Zombies. Alongside the return of the Ray Gun Mark 2, we will be seeing a multitude of variants for it. Today, we’re going to go over the Ray Gun Mark 2, all the variants, & how to earn them in ‘Shattered Veil’. Here’s what you need to know:
The Ray Gun Mark 2 Is Back
The almighty Ray Gun Mark 2 makes its grand return to Call of Duty Zombies! The iconic Mark 2 is a 3-round burst Wonder Weapon that will help you send the undead hordes back to their graves in droves. The base Ray Gun Mark 2 will be available through the mystery box.
As we delve deep into the mansion, we’ll be able to discover the secret variants of the Ray Gun Mark 2 you can build.
Something very similar to the variants we’ll be seeing in ‘Shattered Veil’ are the variants we saw in Alpha Omega, back in BO4. Each variant holding their own unique abilities, far different from the base Mark 2.
Ray Gun Mark 2 Mid-Season Update
Treyarch recently confirmed to Creators on a Private Call that the Ray Gun Mark 2 will be coming to the Mystery Box on ALL Black Ops 6 Zombies Maps with Black Ops 6 Season 3 Reloaded. Launching on April 2nd, the Mid-Season update is expected to release around a month after. This would make Black Ops 6 Season 3 Reloaded release in Early-Mid May 2025.
The Variants
There are 3 alternate Mark 2 variants players can unlock & use in their ‘Shattered Veil’ High Round & Easter Egg runs. Here are each of the Ray Gun Mark 2 Variants, & their different effects:
Ray Gun Mark 2 – W
The Mark 2 – W will have fire patterns similar to that of a SMG. Full auto Ray Gun rounds vs. the 3-round burst fire that the base Mark 2 has. The Mark 2 – W also can randomly ignite enemies.
Ray Gun Mark 2 – P
The Mark 2 – P fires off more like a shotgun. The blast from the Mark – P has a spread to send the undead packing. This variant had the potential to spawn a sigil. This sigil will make the player invulnerable for a short amount of time while standing on it.
Ray Gun Mark 2 – R
The final variant, the Mark 2 – R blasts with the power of a Marksman Rifle. These blasts can possibly spread an infection that creates an AOE (Area of Effect) damage perimeter.
How to Unlock Each Version
Base Ray Gun Mark 2
You can unlock the Base version of the Ray Gun Mark 2 through an unlock quest. To do this, you’ll need to acquire a floppy disc from a purple eye zombie, during a toxic zombie round. Round 10 to be specific. After killing it, it’ll drop the floppy disc for you to grab.
Take that floppy disc to a fax machine located upstairs to receive a word. Head to the Nursery to solve the next step. For example, our word was WORM.
Once in the nursery, look at the board with the letters. Each letter is within a group. The number of letters within each group will equate to the corresponding number you need. With our word being WORM, The code was 9377. NOTE: The Chalkboard can be different each game, but the follow the same solve method to complete this step.
After solving the code, head back down to the S.A.M Room, and make your way into the deeper tunnel. There, you’ll find an HVT Dopplegeist. Once you release & kill it, it’ll drop a severed arm.
After grabbing the severed arm, head to the armory, which is a little further in the tunnels. While in there, you’ll be able to unlock the case containing the Ray Gun Mark 2.
Now, we’re going to go over how to unlock each variant of the Ray Gun Mark 2 here in ‘Shattered Veil’.
Ray Gun Mark 2 – W
MK2 Wraith Fire Upgrade Guide:
Using the MK2, destroy a blue rock in the Conservatory. It will drop an empty canister. There are 4 Aethereal Rock Spawns. These are the locations:
- In the Service Tunnels on the ceiling.
- In the Conservatory on the ceiling.
- On the ceiling in the Fax Machine room (near Stamina Up).
- On a rooftop, visible once on the East-side Balcony (Close to where you can find a refractor).
Bring the empty canister to’ Shem’s Henge’ and put it in the holster at the top of the stairs. An Abomination will spawn.
Let the Abomination shoot its beam at three of the smaller rocks. They will start glowing.
Let the Abomination charge at both of them. They will float.
Once all 3 are floating, you have to defend a portal in the middle of the Henge from Vermin. If a Vermin reaches the portal, it will reduce progress. Parasites, Doppelghasts, etc will spawn.
Once the portal progress is at 100%, go back and grab the “Explosive Canister” from the holster.
Take the canister to the Supply Depot workbench and you can craft it.
Ray Gun Mark 2 – R
First, you’ll want to obtain a second empty canister. Head down to underneath the Double Tap Machine, & you can find one in an open barrier. Use a Kashmir to bring the canister to you. Grab it & move onto the next step.
You’ll then want to find 4 plant pods around the map. Shoot at each pod with the Base Ray Gun Mark 2. Fire at them till they drop seeds. There are several spawn locations:
- Near a tree in the West-Balcony
- Stowed next to a staircase in the Garden Pomd
- Left of the Mansion Entrance
- In Shem’s Henge
More will be updated here once discovered. *Throwing a Molotov at the pods will also give you a seed.
Place this canister in the Conservatory holster at the top of the staircase. Then place these seeds in each Conservatory planter. This will begin a protection sequence where you’ll need to defend the seed while it grows.
After completion, the empty canister will become the ‘Toxic Canister’. Take this canister over to the workbench in spawn & craft the Ray Gun Mark 2 – R.
Ray Gun Mark 2 – P
First, you want to grab an empty canister from downstairs in the mainframe chamber. Once down there, you’ll spot a cryo-pod chamber worth the letter ‘A or B’ next to it. This will determine your next course of action.
To the left of the Doppleghast HVT containment chamber in the service tunnel, there are gas lines leaking that you want to throw Combat Axes at. Aim for the middle lower crank. Aim slightly above each crank to ensure you hit it. After hitting the middle crank, you’ll then want to aim at the crank corresponding to the letter next to the cryo-pod from earlier, & throw a combat axe.
Once you hit those gas cranks, make your way back into the mainframe chamber. The cryo-pod will begin to fill with gas. Throw a Molotov at it to break the pod open to claim the canister.
You’ll now need 2 refractors that you can find laying inside of lion fountains. The first refractor can be found in the lion fountain next to Quick Revive. The second refractor can be found in the lion fountain located on the outside of the PHD Flopper room.
Next, you’ll want to grab the essence bomb from within one of the breakable wooden crates scattered around the map.
Take this essence bomb down into the Service Tunnel & locate the Tier 3 Armor. Head to the right of the armor wall buy & place the essence bomb on the pile of rubble along the wall. This will open a huge hidden room.
Place the canister into the holster in the back of the underground hidden room, & use these Refractors to guide the blue light beam onto the Doppleghast statues. Once a light is shining on a Doppleghast Statue, melee the main crystal emanating the light & a Doppleghast will spawn from the statue. Kill it & you will harvest its’ soul. Harvest all 3 souls & the crystal will harvest the Worm statue essence into a canister.
Once the canister drops, head to Richtofens bedroom & craft the Mark – P on the workbench.
