Visit the rings of Saturn in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies! Astra Malorum DLC 1 has kicked off the first season of BO7, bringing an entire, brand-new main quest with it. Astra Malorum brings players to space for the first time since Moon, and offers an exhilarating final boss. In today’s guide, we’re going to go over the entire Astra Malorum Main Quest, including steps, the boss fight, & rewards here in BO7 Zombies. Here’s what you need to know:
MAIN QUEST STEPS
Step 1 – Turn On Power
Upon spawning in, players are guided to turning on power and unlocking pack a punch. Two components must be collected before heading to the observatory.
The first component is near Juggernog, the other by Stamin. Players will need to interact with the organ to start a mini lockdown which will unlock pack a punch in the observatory dome.

Step 2 – Aquire LGM-1 Wonder Weapon
In order to build the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon, several parts will need to be collected which include:
- Damaged Disc
- O.S.C.A.R will spawn in after power is turned on. Shoot one of his flying UFOs to collect a damaged disc.

- Car Battery
- While using a pack a punched weapon, shoot the hood of Ol Tessie in spawn to collect a car battery.

- Absolute Zero Shard
- With Cryo Freeze equipped, shoot dark aether crystals towards the exterior of the map. Repeat this three times to collect three shards.

- Wires
- Locate a blinking light post which can be in several locations towards the exterior of the map. Shoot it once to collect the wires.

After all parts are collected, the O.S.C.A.R elite enemy will need to be killed in front of three different traps which include the following:
- Rocket
- Near speed cola activate the rocket’s countdown and bring O.S.C.A.R behind the thrusters to instant kill him using the absolute zero shards.

- Laser Trap
- Near Juggernog, activate the laser trap when another O.S.C.A.R is nearby to start a mini lockdown. Make sure he doesn’t have a shield up before the progress bar is full by shooting his protective UFOs.

- Sun Ray
- While in the pack a punch room, shoot five smoking valves in quick succession. These are the known locations:

- Then bring O.S.C.A.R into the room while you interact with the telescope and look at the sun.

These trap kills can be done in any order, so long as you have an O.S.C.A.R to instant kill. The final trap kill will reward players with the LGM-1 wonder weapon.

Step 3 – Doctor Thurston’s Code
Next, get behind O.S.C.A.R while he’s in stealth mode, ensuring he doesn’t detect you while you listen to his audio recordings. He’ll eventually mention victim twenty, aka Doctor Thurston.

Three planets will be mentioned, whose order will need to be noted. Now, take account of the distance each of those planets are from the sun, which will give you a code.
- 1 – Mercury
- 2 – Venus
- 3 – Earth
- 4 – Mars
- 5 – Jupiter
- 6 – Saturn
- 7 – Uranus
- 8 – Neptune
In my game, Thurston mentioned Earth, Mercery and Uranus, which meant my code was 317. Input this code into the machine in the pack a punch room.

Step 4 – Swapping Brains
A lift will come down in the pack a punch room revealing a corpse. Pick up the key he left behind and collect a saw behind a glass case in the speed cola room.

Head to the iron lung cryo chamber in the library. Open the iron lung and surgically remove this corpse’s brain, while also taking out the incoming O.S.C.A.R.

Swap this brain with the one near Juggernog and perform a defense lockdown. After the progress bar completes, take the brain to the machine in the center of the library.

Step 5 – Planet Puzzle
You can return to the telescope in the pack a punch room and focus the lens on Mars. Keep note of the coordinates in the bottom left corner. In my match the correlates were 58 22. Input these numbers into the machine in the middle of the library.
Interact with the screen next to the brain which will read out four book names. Head into the ‘Archive of Orbis’ and see which bookshelves have the four book names you noted.
Next to each book shelf is a statue that needs to be turned the amount of times that corresponds with the amount of books are from your list. For example, two of my books were by a shelf so I turned it’s statue head twice. Two other statue heads were then turned once.
Climb up the ladder to collect a Neptune replica. Place the replica on the diagram in the middle of Library. Locate three pictures which are in the same location each match. These pictures contain a planet with a direction.
- On a desk in the Machina Astralis (library)

- On a table in the Archive of Orbis

- On a desk in the laser trap room.

In my game, the pictures showed me Mars: Southeast, Neptune North West, Saturn North East. Stand under the light in library which represents the sun on the planetary diagram.

Shoot the three planets from your picture so that they match their correct direction. Use your compass to angle them. After this, interact with the brain computer a few feet away to trigger a defense lockdown.

Step 6 – Trip to Mars
Players will now be teleported to Mars where they can pickup the brain in the center of the arena. This will spawn a portal back to the library. The fireworks ammo mod will need to be equipped for the next step.

Interact with the machine on mars to activate a sound. This sound will trigger a bird to spawn out of bounds. Using your weapon with fireworks, shoot the top of the pylons outside of the map in the order of: Back right, back left, top right, top left.

The player will also need to shoot the top of the pylon towards the front of the arena, and keep shooting it if anti gravity isn’t on to keep the bird attracted to the arena. Using anti gravity, players need to collect the bird. Insert the bird into the device at the back right of the arena.

Step 7 – Shangri La Puzzle
Head back to the pack a punch room and interact with the screen on the organ. Four symbols will display in a specific order, which players need to jot down.
Back on mars, five pillars with symbols will need to be activated. Start with the symbol that was NOT displayed on the screen, then go in order of the symbols that WERE on screen. Shoot the antenna on top of the pillar to activate it. Here are the symbols & their corresponding pillars:

After this, interact with the blue symbols on each of the pillars in the correct order. This is a trial and error process similar to the gongs from Shangri La, which will create a melody as the symbols are hit in the right order.

Interacting with the fifth and final symbol will trigger a vote to begin the final boss.
Step 8 – Boss Fight
It’s recommended that players have max rarity and triple pack a punched weapons. High ammo capacity weapons like LMGs or the Novaline are the current meta. No power ups spawn until the final phase, so insta kills and max ammo can help with crowd control and ammo preservation.
This is a four phase (arguably five) boss fight against Caltheris, the floating skull that makes up the round based map of Astra Malorum. An armor wall buy and ammo cache are available which encourages players to bring a ton of essence.
The first phase (what feels like two) requires a soul box to charge up a giant laser beam that can damage Caltheris. Weapons won’t work, and it’s recommended the LGM-1 is used to collect these souls. With a knuckle crack animation, the blue laser can be activated on the center stage. Avoid incoming laser attacks, meteorites and hordes of zombies.

The next three phases bring Caltheris into a monstrous form onto the arena. New attacks like a rock throw, stun slam and lightning pool will be introduced. Focus on blue critical weak points and use your bullet weaponry against the boss. The LGM-1 can also prove useful for crowd control.

Aether shroud and stim shots can also come into play to ensure uninterrupted shots against the boss and faster healing to maintain self revives. Once Caltheris is defeated for a fourth and final time, players are sent to hell.
