Here is what you need to know:

DEAD BY DAYLIGHT X Five Night’s at Freddys
After years of requests and speculations from fans of Dead By Daylight, BHVR is finally doing the most requested crossover with the hit franchise ‘Five Night’s at Freddy’s’.
— Dead by Daylight (@DeadbyDaylight) August 5, 2024
On August 5th, 2024 during the 10th anniversary week of FNAF, the Dead By Daylight official Twitter account posted an image teasing the official crossover “Dead By Daylight x Five Nights at Freddy’s” and it soon became BHVR’s most liked Tweet of all time, anticipating the biggest Chapter release for the game since the Halloween chapter released back in 2017 which, brought Michael Myers into Dead By Daylight.
WHAT WILL THE ‘FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S CROSSOVER OFFER?
It was revealed at the PAX East event just recently that the ‘Five Night’s At Freddy’s chapter will offer a brand new map and a new Killer called ‘The Animatronic’.
- The Map
The crossover introduces a new map, set in the iconic Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaria. Developers have aimed to recreate the eerie atmosphere of the original game, complete with detailed environments and hidden easter eggs.

“The rotting brainchild of a sadistic murderer still stands over the grassy plains. A place of joy for some, and unspeakable terror for others. Do not let the bright colors and parlor tricks deceive you; many have died within these walls, and many more will die still.”
The pizzarias aesthetics will be a mixture of the the FNAF 1 & Movie locations. The original 3 animatronics, (Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica) are visible on the main stage, however Foxy doesn’t seem to appear at Pirates Cove, but his plushie does.

If you look closely at the Chica animatronic you can see ‘Mr Cupcake’ is clearly missing. This could indicate a possible Easter egg where he will be around the map jump-scaring players as a callback to his aggressiveness in the Movie.
This setting promises “to immerse players in the haunting world of Five Night’s At Freddy’s.”
- Map Feature: Security System
At the start of the trial, 7 Security Doors are spawned randomly throughout the map. These doors can be accessed by both Survivors and The Animatronic.
Each Security Door has a Camera attached to it. Interacting with the Door gives the Survivor access to the Camera View, allowing the Survivor to cycle through every Camera in the map, travel to the Door they are currently looking through, and potentially reveal The Animatronic’s aura to the team.

Using the Cameras and Doors too often will deplete the limited battery power available, forcing Survivors to wait until the system reboots. The Animatronic may travel between Security Doors with or without battery power.
If The Animatronic enters a Security Door, they may choose to exit from any other Door in the map. Moving to a Door already in use by a Survivor will cause The Animatronic to grab that Survivor.
- The Killer
‘The Animatronic’ widely known as Springtrap from the game ‘Five Night’s At Freddy’s 3’ will be the new killer for this upcoming chapter. This marks ‘Springtrap’s’ first playable appearance in any game ever.,
‘Springtrap’ is a grotesque fusion of child serial killer ‘William Afton’ and a decaying animatronic suit. While specific details about his abilities remain under wraps, developers have hinted at incorporating Five Nights At Freddys-style jump scares to disorient survivors, aiming to capture the franchise’s signature tension.

Springtrap will be voiced by the original voiced actor (Pj Heywood) from the Five Nights At Freddys: Pizzaria Simulator game as he recently teased on Twitter.
- Cosmetics getting added for Springtrap
Yellow Rabbit|film appearance that will be available for purchase day 1 of release and is voiced by Mathew Lillard, who portrayed William Afton in the 2023’s Five Nights At Freddy’s film.

Glitchtrap | FNAF Help Wanted appearance
Clown Springtrap | FNAF AR appearance
Toxic Springtrap | FNAF Are appearance
‘THE ANIMATRONIC’ABILITIES/PERKS
- THE KILLER POWER: FAZBEAR’S FRIGHT
“The Animatronic lived to kill, even when his mechanical costume became his tomb.”
‘The Animatronic’ is armed with a Fire Axe that he can throw at Survivors. If the Axe hits a Survivor, the weapon becomes embedded in them, leaving the survivors vulnerable.
Survivors must remove the Axe before they can be healed.

- ‘The Animatronic’ Perks
Help Wanted | When the compromised generator is completed, your successful basic attack cooldowns are 25/25/25% faster for 40/50/60 seconds.
Phantom Fear | When a Survivor within your Terror Radius looks at you, they scream and you see their aura for 2/2/2 seconds.
Haywire|Exit gates switches with at least 50% progress regress at a rate of 40/45/50% of gate opening speed. While they are regressing, Survivors see the exit gate lights flicker randomly.
OTHER POSSIBLE LEGENDARY COSMETICS ADDED FOR THE CHAPTER
- Survivor cosmetics
The absence of a Survivor has sparked discussion within the FNAF & Dead By Daylight communities. Fans have speculated about potential Survivor characters, with suggestions including:
Michael Afton: A central figure in FNAF lore, primarily known through the games and novel lore, is the son of William Afton (Springtrap). He plays a major role in most FNAF games, through often under ambitious or disguised names.

He doesn’t have an official model in the games besides his undead purple look from Five Nights At Freddy’s: Sister Location video game, but BHVR would have to design his model from the ground up.
Mike Schmidt: is one of the few protagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie. Michael Afton does not appear by name in the movie, but fans widely believe the movie’s protagonist, ‘Mike Schmidt’ (played by Josh Hutcherson), is a remiaged version of ‘Michael Afton’, as clues support this theory, after all “Mike Schmidt” is one of many aliases ‘Michael Afton’ has used.

It’s highly possible BHVR releases a legendary skin of ‘Mike Schmidt’ voiced by Josh Hutcherson & designed to look like the Movies iteration.
Vanessa: a character who appears both in the game ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach’ & the 2023’s FNAF movie. Her portrayal varies between the two, but they share some important connections.

In the Movie, it’s revealed Vanessa (played by Elizabeth Lail) is the daughter of William Afton and helps the protagonist (Mike Schmidt & Mike’s sister, Abby) defeat William Afton.
Henry Emily: is another key character in the FNAF franchise. His primary role unfolds in the games, with a brief but significant mention in The Five Nights at Freddy’s Movie and is rumored to be in the upcoming sequel.

Henry was the co-founder of Fazbear Entertainment, was the engineer/designer for the animatronics, and business partners with William Afton until one day his daughter (Charlotte Emily) was ultimately killed by the hands of the Purple Guy (William Afton). However it is noted we haven’t seen Henry’s official in game design (only novel iterations of the character), but we will be getting his official look in the upcoming Five Nights at Freddy’s movie sequel releasing December of this year.
