Call of Duty 2025 is rumored to be Black Ops 7. With a new Black Ops entry, comes another set of Zombies maps. While a giant map was already rumored, new information leads us to believe there’s many more maps planned. Join us as we take a look at the rumored maps for Call of Duty 2025 (Black Ops 7).
At Launch
What we’re looking at for launch according to rumores on Twitter is one giant round based map (the biggest they’ve ever done). This map is supposedly built for 8 player support, though unverified. We’re also potentially going to see Dead Ops Arcade 4 brought in with BO7. This would mirror the release of Black Ops: Cold War, where we saw Die Maschine released, along with Dead Ops Arcade 3.
With the large scale map rumored to release, there was talk of it being an 8-player experience, with a Tranzit like transportation system. It was emphasized that this map was for round-based & not Outbreak. However, Outbreak could return in BO7, the question is how?
What may happen is either Outbreak launches with the game, the 1 round-based map, & possibly Dead Ops. Or, we see Outbreak release later in the games life cycle, with focus being squarely on the round-based experience, as well as the returning Dead Ops. The Outbreak map will likely take place on the ‘scrapped’ Avalon map meant for Warzone.
NEW Maps Leaked
According to InsiderGaming on Twitter, there are 5 more maps reportedly joining the biggest round based map to date in the BO7 repertoire. These maps vary in location, & more than likely vary in times they take place. Treyarch apparently played around more with the settings for these maps. Here are the rumored locations we may see in COD 2025:
- Post WW2 New York City where a nuke was dropped.
- A Map in Vietnam
- A Space Station within the Dark Aether.
- A Japanese Temple located at the foot of a Volcano.
- & A Map set in Afghanistan
Based on various comments made by the community, it’s possible similar to BO3, that we see the round-based maps tied to a character since we’re getting the OG crew back. Maybe the New York map is tied to Dempsey, the Temple to Takeo, etc.
New York’s Issue
We could see an issue where maybe that New York map gets shelved. Why? Let me explain. Recent reports indicate certain parts of rhe MW4 Campaign is set to take place on New York. What if since we see New York prominently in the MW4 Campaign, that we might not see it in Zombies for BO7. It wouldn’t be the first time.
As the community knows, Paris was supposed to be BO1s original DLC 4. The reason it got changed? MW3s Campaign prominently featured Paris. With that for some reason, we couldn’t have the Paris Zombies Map & the Paris sections of the MW3 Campaign in 2 back-back games.
This News Fixes Map Issues
The reports of these new locations is great news for the community. This is because it addresses a major criticism people have had over the past few years regarding Zombies maps, lack of interesting locations.
Black Ops: Cold War is a great example. The complaints were there was too many reused Campaign levels, & that they were basic facilities. Black Ops 6 definitely moved in the right direction with Terminus & Liberty Falls. However, the same issues sort of made its way back.
With Citadelle & The Tomb, they both took place in Avalon, only a few miles apart from one another. While the Mansion & Janus Towers, which supposedly will end BO6, are both in the area of Liberty Falls, not too far away from each other.
It would be cool to get uniquely located maps that take place at great distances from one another. This would give the maps their own personalities & uniqueness.
