For fans of the Zombies mode seeking a more hardcore challenge, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 provides players with it through Cursed Mode. The new Cursed Mode also brings back that classic feel from older Zombies renditions, while also maintaining some new mechanics from BO7. By applying relics to your match, you can give the mode an even more classic feel. Players can also expect sick rewards for completing the main quest in cursed mode as well. Today we’re going over the Cursed Mode, all classic features, relics, & all rewards for playing Cursed Mode here in Black Ops 7. Here’s what you need to know:
How Cursed Mode Works in Black Ops 7 Zombies
As stated before, Cursed Mode is a more hardcore experience for battle hardened Zombies players. Zombies are far more aggressive, more mini bosses/elites, & way less room for error. Cursed mode comes with features not seen since the older days of Call of Duty zombies, such as the classic points system, starting with a pistol, & no minimap or objective markers. However, through the brand new relics, you’re able to bring even more classic systems back. Let’s get into these relics, what they do, & how you can unlock them.
Cursed Mode Tier Rewards Explained
Once a player equips enough relics in the start up screen, they’ll be put into one of three tiers of Cursed mode. Depending on how many relics are equipped will determine what tier match they’re able to spawn into. If a host of a match has enough relics to spawn into a high tier game, then any players who join can reap the challenge and rewards.
- TIER 1 REWARD: Golden Armor Wallbuy – Costs 45,000 points after acquiring Level 3 armor
- TIER 2 REWARD: Ultra Weapon Rarity – Costs 17,500 salvage, starting from common rarity
- TIER 3 REWARD: Pack a Punch Level 4 – Costs 100,000 essence, after acquiring level 3 PaP
How to Unlock All Relics in Black Ops 7 Zombies
Relics can be unlocked & used to make your game of Zombies more challenging, as opposed to base level Cursed. These relics are unlocked through Relic Trials, only found & completable in Cursed Mode. Let’s go over all 9 Relics, as well as their abilities & how to unlock them for use in Cursed:
- Lawyer’s Pen
- This relic will cause mimics to spawn into your game. They will be disguised as simple props.
To unlock the Lawyer’s Pen, you’ll need to reach Round 20, & make your way out to the fog between Ashwood & Blackwater Lake. Within the fog, head towards the cabin closest to Ashwood from Blackwater, & locate the red candle near a couch. To light it, shoot it with a weapon equipped with Napalm Burst, or throw a Molotov at it.
- Teddy Bear
- This relic will delay the round start by 75%, similar to rampage inducer.
To unlock the Teddy Bear, you’ll need the necrofluid gauntlet. Around the map, there will be ten Mr Peeks stuffed animals that you’ll need to shoot with the gauntlet and retract your shot on. The tenth and final Mr Peeks rabbit can only be collected beginning on Round 20. These are the spawns for Mr Peeks:
- Toilet behind a barrier in Blackwater Lake cabin
- On a ledge under the grounded ship
- Top of the silo in Vandorn Farm
- Behind a barrier in support systems Cosmodrome.
- Top of the church in Ashwood
- Atop a post in Janus Towers Reception
- Top of a house in Lost Cabin
- Within a collapsed structure in Rabbit Alley Ashwood
- Above a post in the middle of Cosmodrome
- At the very top of a highway exit sign in Exit 115 (Round 20)

Once all ten Mr Peek rabbits are collected, a portal will spawn in Vandorn farm which will initiate the next trial. Every weapon shot will cost 100 essence during this four phase lockdown, meaning players should rack up as many points as they can prior to this. The first and third waves pit you up against regular zombies and doppleghasts, while the second and fourth waves have you focussed on HVTs.
- Dragon Wings
- This relic disables normal Power-Up spawns
To unlock the Dragon Wings, players will need to reach round 20 and take the jump pad from Vandorn Farm to the Janus Reception spawn. During the jump, three purple targets will spawn in the air that will need to be shot with any weapon. Once complete, jump pad back to the farm where a green portal will spawn.
This four wave trial will challenge players to avoid picking up any power ups, as they’ll cause damage to anyone who touches them. The first and third waves spawn regular zombies and doppleghasts, while the second and fourth waves focus on HVTs.
- Focusing Stone
- This relic disables all Self Revive kits
To unlock the Focussing Stone, players will need to be in Tier 1 cursed mode by enabling enough relics at the menu. Once round 40 has been reached, the unlock process will become available where a Zursa bear needs to be killed with a melee attack. Players will need to grab the wine bottle that dropped from the bear.
Another wine bottle can be found after completing a T.E.D.D task after Round 40, while both of these bottles will need to be taken to the bear in the Blackwater Lake cabin. The bottles will then explode in a particular order which will need to be memorized. You’ll now need to shoot these bottles in the same order once they spawn back in.
The trial portal will spawn at Cosmodrome which will forfeit all essence, meaning the player will need to stock up on anything needed before going in. Similar to previous trials, the first and third waves are focused on standard and a few special enemies, while the second and fourth waves are focused on killing HVTs.
- Vril Sphere
- This relic restricts players to a four perk limit
To unlock this relic, players will need to activate Tier 1 Cursed, then survive till Round 40. This will bring the arrival of Doppelghasts on the map. You’ll need to lead this Doppelghast to a jump pad, & kill it using that jump pad. Successfully doing this will trigger Mister Peeks to laugh.
If you make your way to the Cosmodrome, you’ll find the next relic trial portal active. Interacting with it will begin the trial, which consists of eliminating waves of the undead. Two of these waves will have HVTs. The kicker is no purchases can be made during this trial. Once this is complete, you’ll unlock the Vril Sphere relic.
- Bus
- This relic will slowly regenerate enemies health over time.
To unlock the Bus Relic, players will need to activate Tier 2 Cursed & reach Round 60. Once this is completed, you’ll need to complete an entire round by using only Ol’ Tessie, without getting it or using any other forms of dealing damage. If this is achieved, the relic portal will appear on the boathouse at BlackWater Lake.
An easier way to achieve this is using the Abomination heads in Ashwood. Use Ol’ Tessie on a Ravager Round, & boost through a large crowd of them. Avoid any player damage at all costs & use the garage to heal Ol’ Tessie as you plow through Ravagers on the special round.
- Dragon Head
- This relic will disable ammo caches.
To unlock this, you’ll need to activate Tier 2 Cursed, & head in-game. Complete the main quest, & then need to reach a staggering Round 60. Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to complete the Relic Trial.
The Dragon trial portal can be found against the main cabin, located at BlackWater Lake. To complete this trial, you’ll need to kill zombies with explosions. The explosives must come from the Necrofluid Gauntlet. Once you’ve completed this, you’ll unlock the Dragon Relic.
- Blood Vials
- This relic will disable all Augments for not only perks, but will also for ammo mods, as well as field upgrades.
To unlock the Blood Vials, players will need to Activate Tier 2 Cursed, & get up to Round 20. Once you reach Round 20, a red phone will begin ringing somewhere on the map. You’ll need to interact with it until it disappears. Mister Peeks will begin to laugh afterwards.
This will cause the relic trial portal to spawn within the cabin at Blackwater Lake. Once you enter the trial, you’ll find your damage has been reduced by 50%. Once completed, you’ll be able to claim the relic for yourself.
- Samantha’s Drawing
- This relic enables gun game every round but preserves weapon rarity and upgrades
