Verdansk is back! Starting with the launch of Season 3 in Black Ops 6 & Warzone, players will be getting access to the legendary Warzone Map Verdansk. Rumored to be closer to the OG Verdansk of 2020, players will be getting their dosage of Nostalgia. Today, we’re going to go over everything we know so far about Verdansk. Here’s what you need to know:
Verdansk Resurgence
We could be seeing a Verdansk Resurgence mode in Black Ops 6, similar to that of Urzikstan Resurgence back in MW3 (2023). Urzikstan Resurgence was a smaller Battle Royale mode of 45 players. If eliminated in this mode, you’d be able to return to battle after a timer expired. Urzikstan Resurgence consisted of sectioned off portions of the larger Urzikstan map with the POIs used being:
- Popov Power
- Zaravan Suburbs
- Orlov Military Base
With the potential of seeing Verdansk have a Resurgence mode, it’s likely we’d see popular POIs used for the mode. It certainly would give returning players the nostalgia shot that they crave. Some of the POIs we could see in Verdansk Resurgence could include:
- Boneyard
- Super Store
- Prison
- Storage
Other POIs could be used as well, such as ‘Lumber’, ‘Quarry’, or even ‘Military Base’. These are just a few examples of Resurgence Maps they could use.
Returning Vehicles & Improvements
Classic Vehicles
In the latest Verdansk teaser posted on Call of Duty’s YouTube, we get a couple shots of the classic helicopter, seemingly indicating it will make its return to Warzone with Season 3. This has been a long requested vehicle to make another appearance in the Battle Royale mode.

Alongside the classic Helo & other returning vehicles, the ‘Cargo Truck’ has been rumored on Twitter to be making a return to OG Verdansk.
Driving Improvements
According to TheGhostOfHope on Twitter, vehicles are set to see major improvements in Season 3 for Verdansk. While not entirely being 1:1 with the OG Warzone, they will continually be improved upon, even after the Season 3 release & throughout the next year.
Supposedly the reason they felt so bad in the second iteration of Warzone was due to the physics engine that IW9 used. IW9 was the engine used in MW2 (2022), as well as COD entries following it. Suffice to say, it will be a pleasant change to say the least for vehicles in Season 3.
Gameplay Features
No Swimming Allowed
TheGhostOfHope has also stated that there’s no swimming to be had in Verdansk this go around. No water deep enough to hide in &/or swim away from your enemies. There may be deeper water that’s just inaccessible to players, unless it’s an instant death upon contact.
Zip Lines
Within the Warzone menu, lies a countdown timer to OG Verdansk’s release. If you select it, you’ll be shown several POIs with roughly 30 seconds or so to see them. Players have begun stating they see Zip-lines on one of the Downtown Verdansk POI shots.
It’s hard to tell, but possibly the Zip-lines are there. Only time will tell. They’ve become a staple in Urzikstan, so potentially seeing them appear in Verdansk is possible.
Floating Loot
It’s rumored that Floating Loot will also be returning to Verdansk in Season 3 via TheGhostOfHope. This has been a highly requested feature that players have been wanting to return since its removal. Some may see it as a mistake bringing floating loot back, however, others will rejoice as it feels easier to grab loot this way.
Red Doors
The infamous Red Doors in Warzone were used as teleportation devices to random locations around the map. The locations you ended up in after teleporting would be filled with various loot types. Weapons, Durable Gas Masks, even higher rarity loot chests would be present in the room for you to collect. These have been rumored to return in Verdansk, alongside all the other previously mentioned features.

They may not be added in Day One, likely for nostalgia reasons. But they could return during an event of sorts, or special occasions.
The Train Returns
The Train has been mentioned to be returning to Verdansk, Day One. The train in Verdansk provided players a transportation system for players to get around the map. Older players may remember the ‘Haunting of Verdansk’ event from years ago that featured a ‘Ghost Train’.

‘Stadium’ Changed
The Stadium returns to Verdansk in Season 3. The catch? The roof will be sealed. Shadow Company was responsible for the roof being blown off the Stadium, it looks like we’ve gone back in time though as the roof to the Stadium will be intact. The interior of the Stadium will remain accessible to players.

Fringe POI
With Verdansk ‘84 we saw POIs like ‘Duga’, ‘Array’, & even ‘Summit’ added within the map. But according to rumors online, the map ‘Fringe’ from BO3 is coming to Verdansk at an unknown time. It wouldn’t be the first time ‘Fringe’ would be featured in a Battle Royale as it was featured in Blackout back in BO4. We could also possible see it added into 6v6 later on down the line.
Updates Over Time
Hope also reported that Verdansk is set to receive map updates throughout BO6s seasons, as well as beyond that. These updates will reportedly be new & returning updates to Verdansk. Everything is subject to change as the returning Warzone map won’t remain like the 2020 version with no changes. These changes are likely to retain interest in the mode going forward.
Potentially we could see community based events that would lead to POI changes. Where a certain amount of games played or a certain number of kills achieved could lead to maybe something like the Stadium roof opening.
Bunker 11 Teaser
With the return of Verdansk, could we see the return of Bunker Easter Eggs? We see the old code that opened Bunker 11 in the Anniversary trailer for Verdansk. This could be a teaser we see the Bunker 11 Easter Egg return, as well as possibly a new Bunker to access.

Verdansk Tokens
A recent topic that was leaked on Twitter are the Verdansk Tokens. Verdansk Coins could have been a concept that was planned & cut. Now it’s speculated that these coins would be part of a community based event. As the community collects coins, hit milestones, & rewards would be unlocked in OG Verdansk. It’s possible the rewards would be adding certain features back into Verdansk, although it wouldn’t be favorable by the community surely.
Perhaps similar to the ‘Rebirth Reinforced’ Event in Vanguard. This event could pose a problem, as previous community events lately have not been too favorable with the community itself. Events like ‘Hit List’ or ‘Gobblegum Mania’ weren’t the most well received. Though if handled correctly, it could be a fun turnout for the Warzone player base.
Rewards could be strictly cosmetic, as well as potentially returning weapons like the GRAU. They may strictly keep it cosmetics based or features added to Verdansk. This is speculation however & all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
