Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Reloaded Content, Start Times & Gameplay

Season 4 Reloaded Of Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone begins on July 12th, at 9am PT, 11am CT, 12pm EST. Here’s all the confirmed content launching for each mode.

Multiplayer Content

Per the Season 4 roadmap, only one new Multiplayer map is confirmed to be releasing for 6v6. The map is named Vondel Waterfront, but is NOT a direct 1:1 port from Warzone. As we saw with Kunstenaar District, the studio redesigned a portion of Vondel to better fit the Multiplayer experience. According to the Activision databreach last year, four gunfight maps were slated for Season 3-6, where as Season 4 has only released two thus far. It’s entirely possible we get two surprise gunfight maps with the mid season 4 update. It’s been well received to have dropped two maps for 6v6, two for gunfight and two for ground war at the start of the season.

Warzone Content

Season 4 introduced us to Vondel for both Resurgence and DMZ, but full Battle Royale support is being added along with a new Gulag, as Vondel was built with all modes in mind. Just recently, early gameplay surfaced of Vondel’s Gulag, which was quickly copyright struck by Activision. The Season 4 blog also confirmed the return of the Occupation Scan public event as well as a redacted quest on the map. It’s unclear what happened to Decontamination stations, as the field upgrade was confirmed to have been planned for a Season 3 release. As of now, nothing has been confirmed for DMZ, but it’s possible something along the lines of a weapon blueprint build gets added to Vondel or other exclusion zones. With Season 5 launching August 2nd, it won’t be long before the next major content drop for all modes in Warzone.

“The Boys” Crossover Event

The trailer for Season 4 confirmed an upcoming crossover with popular Amazon series “The Boys” but no further details were given on what the crossover would entail. Insider Gaming recently reported that Homelander and Billy Butcher would become playable operators during the mid season 4 update, but that has yet to be confirmed. It’s unclear if the crossover will go beyond operator bundles to feature a series of challenges to fit the theme of the series. Recently, a Multiplayer mode named Havoc leaked out, revealing several modifiers which practically turn you into a super soldier while playing. This fits the idea of Compound-V or a superhero themed crossover perfectly, if the mode is to be released with Season 4 Reloaded.

Assault On Vondel Refresh & Classified Battlepass Sector

Over the last few seasons, Infinity Ward has released a challenge event at the start of a new season, while then refreshing the challenges and reward by mid season. Assault on Vondel is confirmed to get a refresh on Thursday, July 7th according to the in game timer. It’s possible that timer is meant to line up with the launch of Season 4 reloaded on July 12th, but stay tuned for further updates. For the first time, the Battlepass is getting an expansion through a classified sector featuring new tiers to progress through. The sector is confirmed to unlock on July 12th, lining up with the mid season 4 update. What you can unlock in the Assault on Vondel expansion or the classified battlepass sector remains a mystery.

NEW Weapon(s)

All but one confirmed weapon has released in Season 4 thus far. The blogpost confirmed a ((REDACTED)) shotgun was in the works for the mid season update. Rumors earlier this year suggested the Tavor TS-12 would be a DLC shotgun for Modern Warfare 2. Strangely enough, the weapon mastery tab for all Season 4 weapons states that five weapons are releasing this season, which could imply a surprise drop in the form of an unlock challenge, or something apart of the Assault on Vondel expansion. With Season 5 not far off, it would raise eye brows to see another weapon dropped in Season 4 reloaded.

RAID Episode 4 Finale

Sadly, what was once meant to be a five episode RAID experience has been shortened to four, with Season 4 featuring the finale to the post launch narrative being told through RAIDS. Not much is known about the direction of the final episode, but it’s hopeful to think the episode offers the most depth out of the previous episodes if Infinity Ward condensed a fourth and fifth episode together. The last time we saw Task Force 141 in RAIDS, they’d just come face to face with Hadir, who is currently leading Al Quatala. Completing RAID Episode 4 is confirmed to unlock a free skin for Farah, while it’s rumored Hadir may be unlocked by having completed all four episodes. It’s expected to see around seven randomized rewards for completion, as well as a bonus unlock for either doing a quest or completing it on veteran. It’s been speculated that RAID Episode 4 could end on a cliffhanger or title reveal for COD 2023, as the reveal event is currently rumored for August 1st.
