HOW TO UNLOCK THE MW2 SEASON 6 MIL-SIM OPERATOR SKIN | ALL FINAL PRESTIGE REWARDS

Modern Warfare 2 is going out with a bang in it’s sixth and final season, as players have the opportunity to finally unlock a new mil-sim skin, free camos, blueprints and more. MW2 Season 6 officially releases on September 27th at 9am PT, 11am CT and 12pm EST. Despite the previous season of MWII having a shadow company focus, there was a lack of tactical mil-sim skins from the content offering.

THE FINAL FOUR PRESTIGES IN SEASON 6

It’s been confirmed that the four new prestiges coming in Season 6 will be the game’s last, with a level cap at 1,250 which also hits prestige 25. Modern Warfare 2 launched with just a level 0-55 grind, while Season 1 added in the first five prestiges. Just as we’ve seen with previous seasons, the new set of prestiges will also grant players with various free rewards as certain milestones are hit. The free unlocks include:

  • Prestige 22: Level 1,100 – Emblem, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Double XP Battle Pass Tokens, Calling Card Challeges
  • Prestige 23: Level 1,150 – Emblem, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Double XP Battle Pass Tokens, Calling Card Challeges
  • Prestige 24: Level 1,200 – Emblem, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Double XP Battle Pass Tokens, Calling Card Challeges
  • Prestige 25: Level 1,150 – Emblem, Battle Pass Tier Skip, Double XP Battle Pass Tokens, Calling Card Challeges

FREE SHADOW COMPANY MIL-SIM SKIN

The long awaited Shadow Company Mil-Sim skin that leaked out finally has an unlock requirement, and it’s just a matter of hitting level 1,150. This is when players will need to use every XP token they have if they want to earn the militant operator skin in a timely manner. Adding mastery rewards for hitting seasonal rank milestones is a great way to boost replayability with every new title update. It’s unclear how many mil-sim skins will be in Modern Warfare 3, but it’s clear the flashy, colorful and licensed skins will also sell better during post launch. Milsim skins seem better suited as launch content, or free unlocks though season related challenges. This Shadow Company Mil Sim is also fully transferable into Modern Warfare III.

WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR LEVEL WHEN MW3 DROPS

Sledgehammer has yet to fully unveil the leveling system for Modern Warfare 3, but it was already confirmed the game would have a level 0-55 grind, meaning the new COD won’t be picking up after Prestige 25 from Modern Warfare 2. Warzone will integrate with MW3’s leveling once Season 1 launches in December, but it’s unclear if MWII will also share the new leveling system later this year. Previously, games like MW2019, Cold War and Vanguard received level caps during the final seasons of their life cycles, before integrating with the next COD title’s leveling during that game’s first season. MW2 was a fresh start and cut off the last three titles which all currently share a level cap of 2,500.

UNRELEASED CAMO AND CAMPAIGN SOAP

During Season 5, the Faction Showdown event pinned Task Force 141 against Shadow Company. Depending on which group won the event (through a series of community tracked milestones) players would receive a free operator skin and universal camo. Shadow Company came out victorious at the end, awarding players with a Horangi skin, and a red animated camo. The free campaign soap skin and polished animated camo still exist in the game’s menus, with no unlock challenges tied to them. Releasing these items through the battlepass, prestige milestones or future DMZ faction rewards would make the most sense instead of scrapping the content at this point.
