With the end of Modern Warfare 2 approaching fast due to the release of Modern Warfare 3, also comes the end of the exclusivity for the PlayStation exclusive Oni Operator skin! MWII’s final update adds a universal use of the year-long PS exclusive Oni Operator that’s now usable across all of Modern Warfare II. We also get a chance to discuss what’s going to happen with the Combat Packs that were released, and if Oni will transfer between platforms as-well as MW3. Here’s what you need to know:
ONI OPERATOR BUNDLE (1100 COD Points)
The PlayStation exclusivity on the Oni Operator in MW2 has expired, which means the bundle is now on ALL platforms! Call of Duty has released the bundle as a skin and a singular weapon blueprint for 1100 COD Points. It’s a bit much for just two items, but if you really wanted the skin for Xbox or PC, you now have that choice!

All you have to do is either go to your store in-game and locate the Oni Operator Bundle, or scroll through your operator selection until you find Oni and you can purchase the bundle from there!
COMBAT PACKS? CARRY OVER TO MW3?
Oni carries over to MW3 along with the Combat Packs PlayStation users have accumulated all year. It’s worth noting, however, that the Combat Packs are platform locked. This means since they are purchased without COD Points, they cannot be used universally. The Oni Operator Bundle, however, can be universally used if and ONLY if they’re purchased using COD Points; meaning the free unlock via PS won’t work.

Pro Packs suffer the same fate (along with full game pre-orders), and even though the Combat Packs are technically “free” they aren’t purchased with COD Points and instead are tied directly to the PS Store. If you plan on using Oni’s Combat Pack Skins, stick to PS.
FINAL PS EXCLUSIVE OPERATOR (LOCKPICK)
In case you missed it; Xbox now officially owns Activision Blizzard, meaning they own Call of Duty. The deal finally went through, but they still have to honor contracts made before the acquisition; meaning Sony gets one more year of exclusive content on their platform before anybody else. This means the upcoming “Lockpick” Operator for MW3 is the FINAL PlayStation exclusive!

“Lockpick” will be exclusive until November 9th, 2024; it will release as a bundle for Xbox and PC platforms on that date. It’s expected to work similarly to how Oni worked by being platform locked.
THE END
How do you feel about the Oni Operator Bundle? Considering Oni’s base skin is lackluster, it may not anger a majority, and personally isn’t something to be angered over anyways. This will probably be one of, if not our last post about anything related to MW2 as MW3’s release is right around the corner! Below is a video going more in-depth about the Oni Operator Bundle!
