Modern Warfare 3 was already an insane game since it’s reveal, and now that we know how many mastery camos are coming to MW3 at launch, it just got even crazier. The completionist grind in Modern Warfare III is about to be INSANE! We will not only have MWIII camos for both MP and Zombies, but MWII camos from both MP and Zombies! We knew Modern Warfare 2 camos would transfer, but we didn’t expect this much from the MW2 weapons! Good to know Modern Warfare II weapons are going to be getting some love! Here’s what you need to know:
4 MASTERY CAMO GRINDS
You read that title right; Modern Warfare 3 will have 4 mastery camo grinds on launch:
- MW2 MP (Orion)
- MW2 Zombies
- MW3 MP
- MW3 Zombies
The biggest bombshell is that MW2 weapons get THEIR OWN Zombies camo grind! This means you can unlock not one, not two, but EIGHT Zombies mastery camos in the game at launch!
MW2 MP CAMOS & CARRY FORWARD
It’s widely known now; MW3 will feature Carry Forward Progression from MW2. This means your Operators, Weapons, and more will carry over to MW3 at launch; this list also includes weapon camos!
Now, if you already unlocked Orion in MW2, you WILL NOT have to reunlock it in MW3. You will also NOT be required to unlock Orion first enable to start unlocking the other camos.
Base weapon camos can be equipped on MW3 weapons too! The only camos that can’t be equipped, however, are the mastery camos. I’m sure this is just to make people do the camo grind for the new MW3 camos on launch. Sledgehammer could possibly make them usable on ALL weapons once more people have the MW3
MW2 Zombies Camos
Modern Warfare Zombies also has an entire selection of camos for MW2 weapons! This is a massive surprise! The camos are:
- Golden Ivory
- Spinel Husk
- Arachnida (Animated)
- Bioluminescent (Animated)
Unlocking Zombies camos for the MW2 weapons will be the exact same system used previously:
- Get the weapon to a specific level
- Complete all 4 base camo challenges
- Complete all 4 mastery camo challenges
Of course, you can’t complete every mastery challenge off the bat; you have to complete a certain amount of weapons mastery challenges one at a time just like before. This time, however, it should be much easier if you played a lot of MW2, or already have Orion since your weapons will be leveled up already!
Currently, they’ve only revealed one camo challenge for MW2 Zombies camos: “In Zombies, get 5 Mimic kills with the M4”. Once the game releases, we will provide you with a list of each challenge for the camo challenges!
MW3 MP CAMOS
MW3 will have an entire mastery camo grind of it’s own for MP. The camos are:
- Gilded
- Forged
- Priceless (Animated)
- Interstellar (Animated)
How you unlock these camos will be the exact same system as MW2:
- Get the weapon to a specific level
- Complete all 4 base camo challenges
- Complete all 4 mastery camo challenges
Like we said before with the Zombies mastery camos for MW2; you will have to get the mastery camos one at a time since you have to get a specific number of weapons completed for each mastery camo! The MW3 mastery camos CANNOT be used on MW2 weapons.
MW3 ZOMBIES CAMOS
Just like the MW2 weapons; MW3 weapons get their own selection of Zombies mastery camos you can unlock. The camos are:
- Golden Enigma
- Zircon Scale
- Serpentinite (Animated)
- Borealis (Animated)
We think by now it’s pretty self-explanatory, but just in case you need confirmation; the challenges for these camos will follow the same system as MW2:
- Get the weapon to a specific level
- Complete all 4 base camo challenges
- Complete all 4 mastery camo challenges
As mentioned before, they have only revealed one camo challenge for MW3 Zombies camos: “In Zombies, get 250 hipfire kills with the MCW”. We will discuss each challenge once they’re available to see!
WHAT ABOUT THE EVENT CAMOS?
The MW2 “Extra” camos should be usable on MW2 AND MW3 weapons. This means you can use that new “Ghoulie” camo from the Haunting Event on your favorite MW3 weapon!
