The Call of Duty community has imploded over the past few months following the release of Ranked Play & the Warzone integration. Earlier today, Activision released promising details regarding the anticheat, servers, voice moderation and other quality of life updates releasing this month. Here’s everything that was addressed for Black Ops 6 Mulitplayer and Warzone:
HUGE 2025 OVERHAUL ANNOUNCED
Although Call of Duty recently provided statements from team ricochet about Season 2 and Season 3 anticheat updates, Activision provided transparency on exactly when and how changes are being implemented.
The following topics were addressed and were given context from the respective studios working on each issue:
- Bans and cheating
- Disabling cross-play on consoles through Ranked Play
- Server problems
- Incoming quality of life updates
- Community requested bug fixes
RICOCHET ANTICHEAT UPDATES
Both Black Ops 6 & Warzone Ranked Play have been plagued with cheaters, especially during weekends (like now) where cheat providers have offered free access to various tools.
Team ricochet claims they’ve updated their detection models to track down aimbotters, serial cheaters and have reduced the time to release ban waves. IP bans won’t be enforced since it can affect locations like gaming centers or cafes.
Over 136,000 accounts were banned, and they’re working on detecting accounts that have consistently partied up with cheaters. Mass reporting allegedly doesn’t work, but shadow bans were not addressed.
Anticheat Features in Season 2 & Season 3
Call of Duty provided a specific release window for the following features:

SERVERS, PACKET LOSS & LOBBY CRASHING
Activision addressed rubber banding, players who’ve appeared in multiple crashed lobbies and server improvements for specific regions that suffer from packet burst the most.
Demonware is the studio responsible for handling Call of Duty servers, who’ve narrowed down malicious behavior which may have been causing increased connection issues.
VOICE CHAT MODERATION
While specifics weren’t provided on what is considered “disruptive behavior” in voice chat, the team confirmed that trash talking is still allowed in Call of Duty.
Progress reports are planned to be released in the coming months, providing a results for the new voice moderation tool. Comms bans were NOT addressed however, for people who claim they never harassed other players.
