Welcome to Black Ops 6 & Warzone Season 3s first event, ‘The Return to Verdansk’. Fan favorite Warzone Map ‘Verdansk’ will drop back into the COD Community on April 3rd, with the rest of Season 3 dropping on April 2nd. Players will have their hands full with this event, as they hunt for Hidden Safes sprinkled throughout Verdansk. Today, we’re going over the event, how it works, safe locations, & all the rewards you can earn. Here’s what you need to know:
Event Tab & Format
The boys are coming back to town. The ‘Return to Verdansk’ event will focus on squads fighting through Verdansk& hunting for hidden safes. These safes will contain event exclusive rewards, all of different varieties & nostalgia. The event is obviously only covered in Warzone, & you’ll be able to partake in it through the following modes:
- Plunder
- Battle Royale
- & Battle Royale Casual
The entirety of Verdansk is fair game during this event, as the map will be restructured into 12 different “zones”. These zones will typically include a primary POI, possibly even 2, as well as a few secondary POIs. With that being said, here are the 12 different zones you’ll have to make your way through, as well as each POI covered within them:
- Zone 1: Dam
- POIs – Gora Tunnel, Gora Village, Gora Ridge, Roadside Hamlet
- Zone 2: Military Base
- POIs – Arklov Peak Military Base, Lozoff Pass, Crash Site, Riverside, Grazna Bridge
- Zone 3: Quarry
- POIs – Karst River Quarry, Quarry Offices, Lozoff Pass Village, WHP Camp, Karst Bridge, Rail Tunnel, Gorengard Lumber Yard
- Zone 4: Storage Town
- POIs Storage Town, Airport: Both [Verdansk International Airport] & [Control Tower Complex]
- Zone 5: Superstore
- POIs – Atlas Superstore, Airport Maintenance [Hangars]
- Zone 6: Stadium
- POIs – Verdansk Stadium, BCH TV Station, TV Station Central Plaza, Great Bridge
- Zone 7: Train Station
- POIs – Verdansk Train Station, Junkyard, Zhokov Boneyard, Graveyard, Torsk Bloc, Kart Racing Track, Barakett Promenade [West]
- Zone 8: Hospital
- POIs – Verdansk Hospital, Barakett Promenade [East]
- Zone 9: Downtown
- POIs – Downtown Tavorsk District, West Bridge, Gora Bridge, Tavorsk Bridge
- Zone 10: Hills
- POIs – Novi Granza Hills, Tavorsk Park, Styor Memorial, Coast
- Zone 11: Port
- POIs – City of Verdansk Port, Krovonik Farmland
- Zone 12: Prison
- POIs – Zordaya Prison Complex
Safe Locations
While it’s great that Verdansk is back, there is a mission at play. Alongside survival & victory, you & your squad will set out to find hidden safes scattered around the map. There are a multitude of safes present in the ‘Zones’ Verdansk has been divided into. There’s no limit to how many safes you can open, however, they can only be opened once. The safes will also give off indicators that it’s been opened. This will be visible to enemy squads, so watch your back at ANY & ALL times.

Below are all known Safe Locations in Verdansk, with over 25 Spawns across the entire Map. Multiple Spawns are found within the same Location, but only one will count toward your progress to unlock the ‘Kali Sticks’ Melee Weapon.
Safes offer 3 distinct possibilities upon opening them. You will either receive regular ground loot, on of the 12 Zone Exclusive Rewards, or if you’re lucky, you can receive the Special Reward. A side note, all members of your squad will receive the reward upon opening the safe. It matters not who opens it, as long as it’s someone in YOUR squad.
All Rewards
Instant Unlocks
For all players who log into Warzone during this event, you’ll instantly unlock 3 rewards in the form of 2 operators (Domino & Mil-Sim Usef), & a returning weapon (the Kilo 141). Veteran players who played the original Verdansk, or Verdansk ’84 will unlock 3 more additional rewards: the “Blue Legacy” Contrail, “Coming Home” Parachute, & the “Like We Never Left” Gunscreen.
Event Rewards
With all this hunting for the safes around Verdansk, you may be wondering what you’re getting out of it. Well, luckily for you, there’s 12 unique rewards you can earn by opening safes. Each zone contains 1 ‘Zone Specific Reward’, meaning if you find the reward in say, the Quarry Zone, you won’t earn another reward by continuing to open safes in that zone. Here are all 12 rewards you can earn during the ‘Return to Verdansk’ event:

Mastery Reward
Upon earning all 12 other rewards from the event, you will automatically receive the Mastery Reward, the returning ‘Kali Sticks’. That’s right folks, the Kali Sticks are back, first seen back in Season 4 (June 2020) of Modern Warfare (2019), these melee weapons quickly gained infamy among the COD Community, Warzone players especially. They were all the meta rage back in the day, so we may see them rise to prominence once again.
Special Reward
Hidden within the safes in Verdansk lies a secret reward. This reward is the “Trail Blazer” Operator Skin for Caine. The exact prerequisites to finding this reward are unknown at this time, but we will update this once a solid method is found.
