MW3 NEW YEARS UPDATE, CONTENT, & REWARDS

New Years is just around the corner comes a New Years Update for Modern Warfare 3! So far, MWIII has been getting great content and updates, and it seems the team wants to continue delivering great content for Modern Warfare III in 2024! Today, at DETONATED we will go through all the upcoming updates, content, and more coming to MW3 in the start of 2024! Here’s what you need to know:

FIRST UPDATE OF 2024

The devs went on holiday vacation during the month of December, but they left the game in a pretty solid state! Starting with the new year will be the remaining content promised to arrive with Season 1/Reloaded:

New Animated Camo Event

VORTEX has us excited over at DETONATED. We can’t wait to use the Ray Gun on remixed MP maps! This will be especially useful in trying to unlock the NEW “Magma” Animated Camo!

There’s also a new calling card that was found by ForwardLeaks on X/Twitter that might be a free reward for everyone in celebration of the New Year! There will be new patch notes coming soon relating to the Season 1 Reloaded update, so be sure to check back to see what else is coming to MW3 and Warzone!

UPCOMING CONTENT

This next topic will follow content that’s rumored, leaked, or confirmed to be coming shortly after the new year! Starting off, there’s rumors of a “Year of the Dragon (Chinese New Year)” Event. There’s not much info yet, but it’s been floating around and we thought you guys should hear about it too in case you missed it. This event would most likely start around February since the Chinese New Year is February 10th!

Next, we will have new weekly challenges with the start of the new year being on a Monday. We are most likely getting one of these 4 Aftermarket Parts as a reward:

AMR9 – Double Barrel SMG
Sidewinder – Fast Fire LMG
TYR – Single Shot Rifle
Holger 556 – 4 Round Burst AR

Each of these Aftermarket Parts sound like they’ll change the gunplay of these weapons, so it’ll be fun to test either of them out!

Finally, we will talk about some bundles to look forward to. We got new leaks about some new bundles found in the files thanks to ForwardLeaks on X/Twitter; we have images included of their artwork! Since we’re on the topic; you’ll get the original Klaus bundle from MW2 if you purchased MW3 before January 1st digitally at 11:59PT! To finish off the topic; do you remember the “Horsemen War” Ultra Skin that was said to be coming with Season 1? It’s almost nothing if GUARANTEED to release this week, so keep your eyes peeled to the shop and DETONATED’s X/Twitter account to know when it’ll release!

We are also getting the return of the “Experimental Playlist” in 2024! No word yet on when, but we will discuss the topic on our X/Twitter account once we know!

UPCOMING CHANGES AND FIXES

The final topic will cover some of the confirmations we’ve gotten from Call of Duty through Trello Boards and direct communication. There are issues in each mode of MW3 that are on Call of Duty’s radar. Without typing every known issue, we’ll type out some of them below. These are issues the devs are working on resolving ASAP:

GLOBAL ISSUES
- “JAK Beholder Rifle Kit” cannot be equipped after being unlocked.
- “No Stock” Attachment for the XRK Stalker cannot be equipped after being unlocked.
- “Royalty Tiger” Camo is brighter than intended under specific conditions.

MULTIPLAYER
- “Priceless” Camo challenge doesn’t track for the “Stormender” Launcher/
- Field of View can be higher than expected after infil.

ZOMBIES
- Players are reporting losing the contents of their Acquisition Stashes after an exfil or entering the Zombies Menu.
- Some players cannot complete the Act 3 quest step “Deploy to Zakhaev’s Stronghold” in the Act 3 Story Mission.
