“The dense fog returns!” – Announced the official Bloober Team account on X, announcing their next Silent Hill related project, alongside a video teaser of the long desired remake of the game which started it all: The original Silent Hill from 1998! In this article we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this upcoming game.
The video itself is short and to the point. 36 seconds of what starts of with a black screen with the all too familiar ost of Silent Hill 1998 to accompany it, before fog fading into the scene with the reveal that a new Konami, Bloober Team Silent Hill is on the way.
Silent Hill 1 Coming After Success of Silent Hill 2 Remake?
Bloober Team earned the trust of fans last year with the long anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2, which retold the story of James Sunderlands journey through the town of Silent Hill after the disappearance of his wife, Mary. The game having been long anticipated and desired even before it’s official 2022 announcement, fans were weary but excited, given Bloober Teams reputation up to that point, however when the game finally launched last October it was hailed as a return to form for the series and a psychological horror masterpiece by many!
Even with the smash hit of SH2’s remake, fans were eager for more, and today that wait is over. For those who have never played the original Silent Hill 1 follows Harry Mason, a man who is searching for his daughter Cheryl after she went missing while on their way to vacation at Silent Hill. It’s a game beloved by many, and for good reason, and one we highly recommend checking out.
As of right now there isn’t an official release date, or even a date for when we’ll get more information, but we can probably expect the release to follow a similar pattern to that of SH2’s remake, which got revealed in 2022, and was released in 2024 so it might be a bit of a wait before we can revisit the infamous town, but a wait that will no doubt be of worth to ensure the game can deliver.
