EARLY URZIKSTAN WARZONE GAMEPLAY, CHANGES, AND FULL BREAKDOWN

Modern Warfare 3’s NEW Warzone map “Urzikstan” is finally revealed! Thanks to the Call of Duty NEXT Event, we now know what the new Warzone map in MW3 is called and looks like! Today, first on DETONATED, we have an exclusive look at the map itself, tac-map, gameplay changes, and more for Modern Warfare III’s NEW Warzone map “Urzikstan”! Here’s what you need to know:

URZIKSTAN TAC-MAP REVEAL

First on DETONATED, we have an EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK at the tac-map for the brand new Warzone map: “Urzikstan”!

POIS FOR URZIKSTAN

There are 11 POIs in Urzikstan. In some of these POIs you can find remakes of older Call of Duty Multiplayer maps from the past such as “Countdown” from COD4 and “Overwatch” from MW3 (2011)! Here are the POIs:

  • Levin Resort
  • Popov Power
  • Orlov Military Base
  • Seaport District
  • Urzikstan Cargo
  • Old Town
  • Low Town
  • Hadiqa Farms
  • Zaravan City
  • Zaravan Suburbs
  • Shahin Manor

Where will you be dropping first? Levin Resort, Orlov Military Base, and Popov Power will also be included as Ground War maps in MP on launch! Here’s some information about things you can find on the map:

  • Ziplines
  • Juiced Up Redeploy Drones
  • Horizontal Zip Lines
  • Train – Hand brake, Caboose, UAV Tower, Buy Station, Driveable. “Moving POI”

GAMEPLAY CHANGES

Warzone this iteration is receiving some BIG changes that almost make it a “Warzone 3.0” experience! Even though this is still just “Warzone” and NOT a whole new game!

  • Movement is the SAME as MW3! Slide cancelling, ADS speeds, etc
  • Traversal and Mantling
  • Stims boost movement speed
  • New UI updates
  • Red dots on the mini maps
  • Tac-map colors change
  • Weapon and loot rarity is back
  • Backpack update – expansion, dedicated ammo slots next to loot
  • Blue Armor Plates
  • Every Quality of Life change from Warzone currently WILL be there at the launch of Urzikstan
  • Faster pacing with circle closing time and size rebalance
  • Gas Mask Manual Equip Returns
  • Tear Gas Grenade can now be countered with the Gas Mask
  • Players will ALWAYS have a pistol ready while swimming regardless if you have one equipped
  • Contracts are easier to find along with new rewards
  • New bounty
  • Big Game Bounty Contract Returns
  • Updated Champions Quest In Season (team drops contract if killed on their 6th game)
  • Cash ALL AROUND
  • Wealth of smaller changes to come in Season 1 Patch Notes (stay tuned to DETONATED)

NEW PERKS, EQUIPMENT, AND CHANGES

The Perks and equipment in Warzone get some changes this time around that I thought needed to be highlighted:

  • Perks and Loadouts will be ready on launch of Urzikstan
  • Perk packs can be purchased and will drop upon death
  • New perk categories and updates to fit the MW3 Gear System
  • Ghost requires movement to activate
  • Combat Scout Perk Returns – Pings an enemy when damage is applied
  • Shroud (New Perk) – Drops a smoke grenade when downed
  • Irradiated (New Perk) – Move faster and take and take less damage while in Gas
  • Resolute (New Perk) – Increases movement speed when damaged
  • MW3 Lethals ,Tacticals, Field Upgrades, and Streaks changed
  • NVG in Season 1

GULAG CHANGES

The Gulag gets some QOL changes that I thought should be highlighted:

  • 1v1 Three Lane Arena
  • Ascender hook up replacing the flag
  • New Gulag Variation – Night Vision Gulag (Variation)
  • Public Event System in Gulag
  • Full Armor and Decked Out Weapons

MAPS AND GAMEMODES

Al Mazrah is gone. No idea if it’ll return or if it’s removed from DMZ, but it’s been replaced by Urzikstan:

  • Urzikstan
  • Ashika
  • Vondel

For gamemodes, it’s what you’d expect:

  • Battle Royale
  • Resurgence
  • Plunder
  • Ranked (Early 2024)
