As Black Ops 6 gets closer and closer, fans are eager to see what the game has to offer. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait long for your first look at BO6. Call of Duty Next will premiere in August with our first in-depth look at Black Ops 6 in it’s entirety. DK just received his invitation to the Black Ops 6 event in Washington D.C. which is just over a month away. Today, we will go over previous Call of Duty Next events, and breakdown what you will see, and could see, at the BO6 Call of Duty Next event! Here’s what you need to know:

PREVIOUS CALL OF DUTY NEXT EVENTS
This will be the third Call of Duty Next event that Activision has arranged. The first one was in August of 2022 to showcase Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) to the world! Within the first Call of Duty Next event, they showcased everything MWII had to offer, such as:
- Multiplayer – Core and Ground War
- Warzone 2.0 – Alpha
- DMZ
In 2023, Activision arranged another Call of Duty Next event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (2023). This event showcased a plethora of MWIII content, such as:
- Multiplayer – Remastered MW2 (2009) Maps on Core
- Zombies – Gameplay Video Sent To Creators
- Warzone – Urzikstan and Rebirth and Fortune’s Return Announced
THE INVITATION
DETONATED co-owner dkdynamite received his invitation to COD NEXT which will be on Wednesday, August 28th.

MULTIPLAYER GAMEPLAY
Call of Duty Next this year will, for 100% certainty, feature a heavy hands-on gameplay showcase for the Black Ops 6 Multiplayer. This will have a major showcase of what the multiplayer experience will entail, including the first look at gameplay through the perspective of non-devs, the maps, weapons, killstreaks, and more!
During this section of the event, it’s worth noting that we will most likely get a beta date reveal. There were also rumors of a potential alpha coming to Black Ops 6 that, if true, would release shortly after the event ends similar to the Black Ops Cold War Alpha.
WARZONE CONTENT
Call of Duty Next has been confirmed on August 22nd to offer the first look at the new Resurgence Map coming to the Black Ops 6 Warzone Integration, Area 99.
Due to the small image the community was given, it appears that Area 99 will feature elements of fan-favorite MP map, Nuketown. There’s not much on Area 99 at the moment, but we will cover information as SOON as it releases, which will most likely be at Call of Duty Next on August 28th! For now, here’s what else is rumored to be coming to Warzone within the next year:
- Verdansk – Early 2025
- Avalon Big Map – Fall 2025
- Urzikstan – BO6 Season 1 Map Updates/Ranked Play
Area 99 will have HANDS ON gameplay at Call of Duty Next.
ZOMBIES GAMEPLAY
Call of Duty Next will feature hands on gameplay with the second round-based Zombies map, Liberty Falls!
This info was confirmed in the newest gameplay trailer for Black Ops 6 Zombies that showcased the Terminus map. At the very end, we get a small glimpse at Liberty Falls along with confirmation that a first look will be at next! Hopefully, we’ll get confirmation on the rumor about an “early pre-order zombies map”.
MOBILE RUNDOWN
Confirmed on August 22nd, there will be a segment dedicated to the mobile side of Call of Duty! Topics that are confirmed to be discussed are:
- 5 Years of Call of Duty Mobile
- Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile New Features Preview

WHEN IS CALL OF DUTY NEXT?
Activision has confirmed that the Black Ops 6 Call of Duty Next event will be shown on August 28th! If they follow trend, the beta should be available AS SOON as Call of Duty Next is over, so mark your calendar and keep your eyes peeled to DETONATED for beta information as soon as it releases.
