Release Date

The Tomb is set to release on January 28th, alongside the launch of Season 2 in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone. This will bring us up to 4 Round Based maps in a Zombies iteration before January is even over!
The Story Heading In
*Spoilers Ahead*
After claiming the Obscurus Altilium, the crew formerly known as Requiem head to the aid of Gabriel Krafft. Unfortunately, they are too late & he dies. Luckily, they were able to get some information from him before his passing. They are to take the Amulet to the Excavation Site, but to proceed with caution. Krafft warns the Sentinel Artifact could consume the crew.

Richtofen is on the hunt for the Sentinel Artifact as well, likely on his way to the dig site himself. Krafft begs Requiem not to kill him, for Richtofen is his son. It is revealed that Krafft adopted Richtofen as a child, within intel you can find on Citadelle Des Morts. Armed with this new knowledge, Requiem heads to the old Excavation Site. The site being built upon an ancient burial ground with origins suspected to date back 2500 B.C.E. Undisturbed until the 1900s, this tomb of the ancients may hold secrets that run & lie deeper than anyone could anticipate.
British Archeologist: Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe was in charge of an excavation at the site, back in the year 1908. While no one knows what happened to him, old photos from the doomed exploration have begun making the rounds. He’ll be your new voice to guide you along this exploration into “The Tomb”.

“Majorie – you would simply not believe this place! Dashed pyramids can go take a jump in a lake, wot!”
“This site blithering-well doth both baffle & amaze. I suppose I shall have to thank Alistair for more than just the contents of his cellar…”
“Here, in this vast, natural cavern… a neolithic temple constructed to honor long forgotten gods. I must say, this was well worth the risk.”
The Trial Commences
If you know how the Sentinel Artifact works, you’re aware that the Artifact requires completion of a trial to prove you are worthy. This is likely to be the case in The Tomb. Requiem may not be facing Gladiators, Stokers, or giant Werewolves, they’ll definitely have their hands full with what the Artifact conjures up.
The Tomb could have a Chaos map type feel, one last really experienced in Ancient Evil back in Black Ops 4. How cool would it be to see the Chaos Mystery Box make a return? Elements of the Chaos story are present in this timeline from the Sentinel Artifact itself, intel from Alistair Rhodes, & possibly a reference to Bruno from the Chaos crew. Noting is out of the realm of possibility!
Overview

Treyarch have confirmed that the Tomb was crafted to provide a similar experience to a map they released on launch, Liberty Falls. The map will focus on replayability, as well as feature smaller/tighter playing spaces. Very similar to Liberty, they’re going to deliver plenty of Side Easter Eggs to discover.
The Season 2 Blog Post revealed the 6 main locations within “The Tomb”, including but not limited to:
- Dig Site
- Neolithic Catacombs & Ossuary
- Shrine of the Heirophants
- Subterranean Temple and Deep Excavation
- Tombs
- Doorway to Nowhere and Dark Aether Nexus
Secrets lie within each location for players to discover. Symbols, carvings, & sculptures line the walls & architecture. New traps are scattered within the locations. Traps like the arrow traps, or the Aetheric Chandeliers that hang in places. Ones that once shot, will rain down fire on all who cross past it. What will you find on this exploration of “The Tomb”?
The Ice Staff Returns!
The ICONIC Ice Staff has returned to Zombies here in Black Ops 6. First introduced in Origins back in Black Ops 2, the Ice Staff’s a magical staff that delivers a freezing blast to the hordes of the Undead. The staff also has an area of effect attack, as well as the ability to revive teammates with a restoring blast.

NEW Enemies
The undead get a makeover from the ancient times they hail from. Thee are armored guards, as well as peasants, & disciples who sought to worship ancient gods of eons past. The ever so popular Amalgams have also returned & roam the Tomb, looking for their next meal.

Now for the NEW enemy, the Shock Mimic. Creatures that disguise themselves as useful items to trick unsuspecting victims into approaching. Their bites are electric & their distortion camouflage emitted can disrupt your map, along with your vision. Rubber gloves are recommended against these guys.
