With Microsoft’s Aquisition of Call of Duty comes the potential for MAJOR crossovers with other franchises. These crossovers could include some heavy hitting brands, such as Halo, Gears of War, even DOOM. There’s been major speculation of these crossovers Today, we’re going over what may be a possible hint we’ll see these crossovers. Remember these are speculated based off rumors, so take them with a pinch of salt. Here’s what you need to know:
The Rumor Begins
According to an article posted by Insider Gaming, three HUGE collaborations are claimed to be coming to Black Ops 6. As stated earlier, these franchises being Halo, DOOM, & Gears of War.
The article does stem from information provided by data miners CODWarfareForum & Vondyispog over on X. They’ve been stated as reliable sources, even having their information corroborated by leaker Shpeshal Nick. He claimed to have heard these same rumors back in January of 2024.
This article began speculation amongst the community that we may see these three brands in Call of Duty at some point. All three have potential to be massive crossovers, each with bundles, possible events, & more content for players to enjoy. Let’s take a closer look at each potential crossover.
Gears of War
Funny enough, Gears of War is supposed to be releasing a game in September of 2025. This is around the time Season 6 of Black Ops 6 will probably be coming out. It could be a final crossover kind of deal, maybe even part of the Haunting Event, similar to how Diablo crossed over during the Haunting Event in MW2.
There’s so much potential for Operators of Marcus Pheonix, Dom, Cole Train, or even Baird, with their iconic voice actors. Perhaps even a Lancer blueprint could be added, with a chainsaw attachment.
They could even do an event centered around Gears of War in Black Ops 6. Potentially release an LTM, similar to how Fallout or Warhammer did in MW3. It’s a case of if the crossover makes sense, they could do events around new game releases, especially Microsoft owned IPs.
DOOM
Similar to Gears of War, DOOM has a game dropping in 2025. Difference is, we don’t have a timeframe yet for when the new DOOM game drops. Season 3 or 4 definitely could be the timeframe they end up using for a DOOM crossover in Black Ops 6.
Obviously, the DOOM Guy would be an Operator Skin they could release. There are several weapon blueprints they could also use based on their new game. There’s also the potential for a map reskin or an LTM they could release for the crossover.
Also similar to Gears of War, they could release a limited time event, where you can earn DOOM themed cosmetics like emblems, loading screens, maybe even a blueprint or universal camo as the mastery reward. The possibilities are endless.
Halo
Halo is a massive & timeless franchise for Microsoft that could bring in some big numbers with a collaboration. Huge potential for content to be added, & to have a crossover people have talked about for years. Let’s look into some of the things a Halo crossover could bring.
For starters, Master Chief would easily be a hit amongst players for a bundle. He’s a more than recognizable face in the gaming sphere. They could also add The Arbiter as an operator, or even a Cortana Skin/Operator. Maybe even add members of Noble Team Six, or other iconic characters from the franchise.
Potentially they could add an Energy Sword as a melee weapon, or Halo themed ARs, Pistols, etc.
With the rumor that Fireteam is supposed to return to Black Ops 6, they could possibly reskin it, & make it feel like Conquest from Halo multiplayer. Possibly an LTM where Cortana would be the announcer. There’s so many possbilities with Halo.
According to TheGhostofHope over on X, there were supposedly plans for a Halo collab in MW3 that ended up getting scrapped. While it may have been scrapped in MW3, there’s always potential they pull the trigger & release it here in Black Ops 6!
