NEW XBOX CONSOLE RELEASE DATE WITH MODERN WARFARE 4 | CALL OF DUTY 2026

Of 4 years having the next gen consoles the PS5 and Xbox Series X, is it too early to discuss the future? After the recent Black Ops 6 on Xbox Game Pass talk, new reports state yes! The newest Xbox is rumored to be coming in 2026 along with a new Call of Duty at launch, rumored to be Modern Warfare 4! With Black Ops 6 around the corner, and Xbox Game Pass getting a potential overhaul, there’s more information you’ll need to be aware of before the big reveal on June 9th. Ready to hear about the next Xbox and MW4? Here’s what you need to know:

BLACK OPS 6 ON GAME PASS?

In case you missed it; Call of Duty 2024 (Black Ops 6), has been officially announced by Microsoft to release Day One on Xbox Game Pass. This was news nobody expected so soon, and yet was hoped for by many.

Without going into specifics on if releasing a new Call of Duty (you can read our article here on that), the most popular game every year, means increasing Game Pass value; this is big news for not only Xbox users, but Microsoft themselves. Taking lead of their newly purchased IP (which was finalized in late 2023) by releasing it on their best-selling business model for their flagship consoles is definitely a huge play on their part, but how much are they wanting to push Call of Duty as part of the Xbox ecosystem?

“CALL OF DUTY” GAME PASS TIER?

After the confirmation of Black Ops 6 coming to Game Pass, dataminers found references to Game Pass Tiers in the code of Modern Warfare 3:

• GP_CORE_CHINA
• GP_GOLD
• GP_PC_XBL
• GP_ULTIMATE
• GP_ULTIMATE_XBL
• GP_VALENCIA

While most of these are self-explanatory, the biggest two are “GP_CORE_CHINA”, which is most likely just a China-specific Game Pass due to their censorship laws, and “GP_VALENCIA”. Valencia is unknown at this time, but speculation points to this being a possible tier that features Call of Duty, or other big flagships, as the main selling-point for that tier.

Game Pass Ultimate is currently the biggest tier you can purchase for Game Pass on both PC and Xbox consoles, so what could this Valencia Game Pass be?

WHEN WILL WE KNOW ABOUT VALENCIA?

The reveal event for Black Ops 6 is set to happen after the Xbox Showcase on June 9th. During this showcase we could see the announcement of new Game Pass Tiers (and possibly prices). Multiple reports are stating that Black Ops 6 will release on October 25th, 2024 on PC as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles. This means the new tiers, if true, are more-than-likely set to release before October 25th, or on that day.

NEW XBOX COMING IN 2026?

After info released about Black Ops 6 being available DAY ONE on Xbox Game Pass; user TheGhostOfHope on X/Twitter made a comment about their “trusted sources” stating that the next Xbox console has a planned release window of late 2026 with Infinity Ward’s next title in the Call of Duty franchise (rumored to be Modern Warfare 4) being a launch release for the console.

This is most definitely news to be aware of. Not only have they been right before, but it lines up with previous release timeframes of the Xbox One and PS4. The PS4 released on November 15, 2013 with the Xbox One following behind on November 22, 2013. It took seven years before we got the PS5 on November 12th, 2020 and the Xbox Series Consoles a few days before on November 10th, 2020.

Microsoft has been working on their newest console for a while now, and could easily have a new one prepared to catch Sony off-guard with a big release, such as Modern Warfare 4, planned for 2026.

THE END
