Modern Warfare 3 Zombies now has an official trailer that gives us our first look at the new iteration of Zombies for MW3! Zakhaev, Requiem, and more make an appearance in the newest trailer for MWIII Zombies! Are you ready for Modern Warfare III Zombies? Here’s what you need to know:
TRAILER BREAKDOWN
The trailer starts with a break-in. A squad dressed in military uniforms are trying to enter a location while another squad distracts the police. Once inside, they blow up a door to some stairs that leads them to a room where four dead bodies can be seen around a table with a device in the center. One of the bodies bears resemblance to Weaver from the Black Ops games. This is presumed to be Requiem from Black Ops Cold War.
The device opens to reveal two vials sitting in the device. There’s two empty spots where vials either were or could’ve been, meaning someone was there prior to this squad. One of the squad members takes off his mask to inspect the vial closer and reveals himself to be Viktor Zakhaev from MW2019 & Warzone! He has a scar on his face compared to the last time we saw him.
Zakhaev’s squad takes both vials and leaves the room. They are then confronted with more police, of which they have to try and neutralize before they can exfil. This doesn’t work in their favor, and the police takes out all but Zakhaev outside the exfil truck. In a last ditch effort, Zakhaev throws the vial and rushes to the exfil truck. The vial makes contact with the ground and explodes, emitting a Zombie scream from it and releasing a cloud of Dark Aether to the area.
Suddenly, the dead squad members come back to life, almost looking like their fighting the sudden force that took over their body, but ultimately failing as they become… Zombies. Zakhaev watches them take down the police and demonstrate power. This excites Zakhaev, for this is the weapon he’s been looking for.
The next scene is in a chopper where we are joined by Laswell and Soap from MW2, and a mystery man. Laswell and Soap give a rundown of the situation; codenamed Operation: Deadbolt, they are tasked to stop the incursion in the area. The mystery man is revealed by Laswell as Sergei Ravenov, a character who was last seen in Black Ops Cold War Zombies in assisting Requiem in stopping the Outbreak during the Cold War.
They didn’t know what Zakhaev was up to months ago, but they’re about to find out…
ZAKHAEV IS BACK
For those of you that don’t know: Viktor Zakhaev was the villain of MW2019’s Warzone cycle and was defeated by Price and the rest of 141 in a cutscene where he was thrown down a missile silo. That fall didn’t seem to take.
Remember that MW3 Zombies takes place between MW2019 and MW2, so it’s possible Zakhaev didn’t fall down the missile silo yet, but his model now has a scar on the right side of his face, which could imply that he did survive the fall.
ZOMBIE GHOST PRE-ORDER SKIN
Announced at the end of the new Zombies trailer was a new pre-order skin for Ghost!
This skin will be available for use in MW2 and Warzone on September 27th (the start of Season 6) and it will be available to players regardless if they pre-order now, or after the date given! It will also carry-over to MW3! Fitting that they give us a Ghost skin where he’s a zombie just in time for the upcoming Haunting Event!
