There’s a new Haunting event coming to Modern Warfare 2 Season 6! Have you missed the Haunting events in Call of Duty? Season 6 of MW2 will have you covered! The Haunting event for Modern Warfare II coming in Season 6 will bring new operators, new additions, map changes, and more for MWII. Here’s what you need to know:
WHAT’S COMING TO THE NEW HAUNTING EVENT?
Thanks to Task Force Leakers on X/Twitter, we got a few goodies for the new Haunting event found in the files of MW2 from the new Season 5 Reloaded update! This new Haunting event looks like the biggest one we’ve gotten so far. Here’s a list of things that were found in the files:
- The Train is now a Hell Train
- “Zombies in Spaceland” UFO ship sounds followed by an announcer track repeating numbers in a sequence
- Mummy boss. Reportedly it’s a character from the Conjuring universe named “Valak”
- “Nun II” composer Jason Graves is reportedly working on the score for the event
- 4 CROSSOVER OPERATORS in the form of: Ash Williams from “Evil Dead”, Spawn from the comicbooks “Spawn”, Skeletor from “Masters of the Universe”, and Alucard from the “Hellsing” manga/anime series!
- 3 Operator Skins for: Calisto (Raven Outfit), Kleo (Zombie), and Fender (Pumpkin Head)
- DIABLO 4 Crossover! Butcher enemy will spawn and attack operators (possibly similar to Krampus from previous Warzone 1 and Vanguard Events), Lilith icon along with an icon for Hell Portals!
- Zombies Event in MP and Ghosts Event in Warzone is coming!
At this time, it’s unsure if these features are exclusive to Al Mazrah, Vondel, Ashika, etc. but it’s safe to assume that some of the features will guaranteed be on every map similar to how it’s been done in the past!
SEASON 6 HAUNTING CONTENT BREAKDOWN
Let’s talk about what each addition brings to the warzone (pun intended):
The Train being transformed into a Hell Train most likely will be a cosmetic effect added to the train to make it look fitting for the Halloween season. This could also be a hotspot for the Butcher enemy to spawn making it harder to loot on the train itself. Speaking of Butcher, this is an enemy from Diablo 4, Activision Blizzard’s most recent title release that had an immense following on release. The Butcher isn’t the only thing coming from Diablo 4; Lilith, the villain of Diablo 4, has her own altar icon as part of the event. Whether or not this means she’ll actually appear, or if this altar is a way to complete Haunting-type quests while playing Warzone is yet to be seen, but either way, it’s an intriguing and exciting addition to look forward to!

On top of this will be a Mummy Boss from the Conjuring Universe named “Valak”! Activision really pulled out all the stops this year to make this Haunting event feel as spooky as they can, including brining in “Nun II” composer Jason Graves!
While on the topic of crossovers, let’s discuss the awesome crossover operators coming during the event! The first on the list, the legendary Ash Williams from the popular “Evil Dead” franchise created by Sam Raimi (“Spider-Man Trilogy” & “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” Director)! Ash Williams is played by actor Bruce Campbell who’s appeared in many of Raimi’s projects, and is assumed to be voicing Ash Williams in Call of Duty.

Next, we have Spawn, a comicbook character created from the legendary Todd McFarlane, & has been written by other great authors such as: Alan Moore, Frank Miller, and Neil Gaiman (my personal favorite). Spawn has appeared alongside other comic legends such as Batman and Superman, but is independent from Marvel and DC, but has been known to be involved with both universes. The character is owned by Image Comics and due to this has had appearances in other games (such as Mortal Kombat) and an independent film from 1997!

Thirdly, Skeletor from the popular “Masters of the Universe” is coming to Call of Duty! This is sure to make the older Call of Duty fans happy (and even the younger audiences who were exposed to “Masters of the Universe”). Skeletor is the main villain in “Masters of the Universe” and has an iconic look that many generations have seen through memes or pop culture! Skeletor was created by Mattel, and can be seen in many of the “Masters of the Universe” movies fighting against the hero, He-Man.

Finally, anime/manga character Alucard (Dracula backwards in case you were curious) is coming to Call of Duty! It’s good to note that this may not be the anime version of the character, but considering Call of Duty’s track-record with anime blueprints and skins, it’s a high possibility! Depending on what version you’re looking at, Alcuard is a True Vampire, a form of demon that’s known to be powerful creatures with Alcuard being the most powerful of the bunch. If this is a favorite anime of yours, then you’ll definitely want to look out for this bundle, and if this is new to you, taking a look at it before it’s release could be good research and build hype!

Since we are talking about skins, let’s discuss the new operator skins. There’s only 3 skins so far, but there could be more added as we get closer to the Haunting event! Currently, there’s a Raven Outfit coming for Calisto, a Zombified Skin coming to Kleo, and a Pumpkin Head/Sleepy Hallow inspired skin for Fender! These skins look REALLY cool and I can’t wait to see what else the bundles bring!

The Zombies in Spaceland UFO soundbite that was found; it’s unsure if this is for the Haunting event, but it’s safe to assume since it doesn’t fit anything else in the game. We don’t know much more about it, but it could be a fun little Side Easter Egg that can be completed during the Haunting event!

Now, for the last and final thing found, there is going to be a Multiplayer specific event and a warzone specific event. According to the files, Zombies will be roaming around in Multiplayer (maybe some random AI in a gamemode or a new version of Infected; this could also be where the UFO ties in) and Ghosts will be roaming in Warzone (either dead players or purely for jumpscare purposes). This is definitely going to change the atmosphere of any mode you decide to play during the Haunting event.
THE END
How excited are you for the upcoming Haunting event? It’s release should be during Season 6, so make sure to stay tuned to DETONATED on any future updates! NOTE: Everything earned through the Haunting should be transferrable to MW3. No official confirmation yet, but it’s safe to assume. Remember that anything can be changed from now to release!
