NEW WEAPON CASE LTM
In the last week of Season 1 Reloaded, the Weapon Case Limited Time Mode was dropped by surprise after the marketing for Season 2 was revealed!
This dropped as part of the “Battle Royale Preview” Mode which is similar to the “Experimental Playlist” Mode from MW3’s MP!
WHAT IS A WEAPON CASE
The Weapon Case in Warzone’s Urzikstan map will be obtainable at the start of every match. There will be a search area defined by an icon on the in-game Tac-Map. It WILL NOT be an exact location, so you will have to search around for it. When you pick up the Weapon Case, you will be marked on the Tac-Map for other squads who can then battle you for ownership of the case. Enable to guaranteed secure the Weapon Case, you should use the new Covert Exfil option!
Those who have played MWII’s DMZ mode will be familiar with this concept for they existed on each DMZ map.
HOW TO OBTAIN THE WEAPON CASE
The primary objective is to extract the Weapon Case via Covert Exfil, or achieve a standard Victory with the Weapon Case in Battle Royale Preview to earn rewards for the entire squad – listed here:
Locating The Weapon Case
Marked on the Tac Map at the beginning of each match, a single weapon case will be marked for everyone, which will be found in a hidden cache. It’s best to avoid obtaining the weapon case at the beginning of the match, as a majority of the lobby will be hot dropping on the marker on the tac map.
It’s recommended to drop NEAR the weapon case, complete scavenger contracts and acquire your loadout before marking yourself with the entire lobby while holding the weapon case. Successful players tend to fly around in helicopters or drive in vehicles until their teammates help them covert exfil or eliminate enemies.
Completing a Covert Exfil OR a Victory
For a detailed breakdown of Covert Exfi, click here. Players with or without the weapon case can choose to purchase a Covert Exfil for 30k at a buy station, before the gulag closes in their match. Completing a covert exfil with the weapon case up to six times will unlock various rewards, as covered in our recent article.
If a player manages to win a match while holding the weapon case, they’ll unlock the Mortem operator skin, which isn’t an easy task to complete. Those are two methods in which you can complete the weapon case challenge in Battle Royale preview.
