Black Ops 6 Zombies has truly exceeded expectations with its recent reveal, offering a wealth of exciting information for fans to delve into. Treyarch promises a return with what they consider the best version of Round Based Zombies that has ever existed This in-depth DETONATED exploration promises to uncover the mysteries and features that await players in this highly anticipated game mode coming October 25th.
CHARACTERS
The main crew of Black Ops 6 Zombies consists of a diverse and intriguing group of characters we’ve now been introduced to. Among them are: new face Maya Aguinaldo, who has teamed up with Peck to rescue Requiem at Terminus Island, but has her own goals in mind. Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, and Mackenzie Carver, former heads of Requiem who have spent the last 5 years imprisoned on Terminus Island. We also see Maya featured in various shots of multiplayer footage used, and content creators have spoken on playing as Weaver during the MP playtest, implying the Zombies Crew operators will also be available in MP and Warzone.
FEATURES
GobbleGums Return: The beloved GobbleGums make a comeback in Black Ops 6 Zombies, offering single-use abilities that can be earned in-game or through the Vault Edition. This feature adds an extra layer of strategy and excitement to the gameplay.
Salvage Drops: Salvage was spotted dropping from a zombie on the stairs, providing players with valuable resources to enhance their arsenal. Returning from Cold War, a return of salvage likely means the return of associated crafting systems like armor and weapon rarity.
Rampage Inducer: The Rampage Inducer, a fan-favorite feature, makes its return, promising chaotic and thrilling encounters with the undead.
New AI Additions: One of the exciting new additions to the game is the introduction of zombies with different body sizes, as we saw a bloated Fat Zombie in the gameplay footage.
Weapon Progression: Progression on weapons, according to ScreenRant, is shared between MP and zombies. There is a new system for unlocking skins and rewards from zombies that we will see at a later date.
Simultaneous Maps: We also learned that both Terminus and Liberty Falls take place simultaneously, providing a parallel experience similar to maps like Moon and Nuketown.
Omnimovement: Treyarch also highlighted their changes to the movement system this year will come to Zombies as well, allowing players to sprint and dive in any direction they choose.
MAPS
Terminus: The first map, Terminus, offers a familiar yet expanded gameplay experience. In the footage we saw, the Deck Cannon Trap was prominently featured, adding an element of danger and excitement to the gameplay. When seen from afar, Terminus also seems vaguely familiar. It seems as though, judging by the larger layout, the locale being in the water, and the giant deck cannon, we may be looking at a reimagining from Battery – a multiplayer map from Call of Duty: World at War. Here are some comparison shots –
While the layouts are clearly not the same, and this is NOT A REMAKE, the similarities in the Deck Cannons, wall and ground textures, and overall aesthetic are hard to ignore. Perhaps Terminus is inspired by or loosely based on Battery? We believe so, and will be looking for more proof as more Terminus footage is released in the coming weeks.
Liberty Falls: Set in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia, Liberty Falls is a vibrant and unique location where an aether incursion has occurred. The presence of a van labeled “Liberty Falls PD” in a multiplayer map hint at the immersive experience players can expect in this setting will extend further than the Zombies map alone. With diverse locales such as a comic shop and a bowling alley, this map is both easy to navigate and visually striking. Bright and sunny, Liberty Falls promises to be a memorable setting for intense zombie battles.
RETURN TO FORM
Treyarch have said they intend to return to form with Round Based Zombies in this Black Ops installment, and some of the props in the zombies reveal setup suggest just that.
Next to Kevin Drew as he speaks on BO6 Zombies is a jar of Gobblegums on top of two books. The two books are:
Thanks for the Feedback (A Guide on Taking Feedback Well)
And the Black Ops 3 Guide.
This suggests that Treyarch are looking at what fans have been missing since those days of classic zombies, and truly trying to implement that feedback. In conclusion, Black Ops 6 Zombies is shaping up to be an exhilarating and immersive experience for players. With an intriguing cast of characters, exciting features like GobbleGums, and captivating maps like Terminus and Liberty Falls, this installment in the series is sure to delight fans old and new.
