Black Ops 7 Ranked Play Release Date
Ranked Play for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Multiplayer launched alongside Season 2 on February 5, 2026.
To unlock Ranked Play access, players must earn 50 wins in matchmade Multiplayer. Wins earned prior to Season 2 count toward this requirement. Party Games and Limited-Time Modes do not count.
Once unlocked, Ranked Play is immediately available and remains active throughout the season.
How Black Ops 7 Ranked Play Works
Black Ops 7 Ranked Play is built around 4v4 competitive Multiplayer matches using a ruleset closely aligned with the Call of Duty League.
Matches feature:
- CDL-approved maps and modes
- Weapon, attachment, perk, wildcard, and scorestreak restrictions
- Friendly fire enabled
- Overclocks disabled
- Core and Hybrid Perk Combat Specialties disabled
Placement Matches and Skill Rating
At the start of each season, players begin Unranked.
- Players must win three Placement Matches to receive a starting Rank
- Each Placement Match win updates a projected Rank
- After placement, players gain or lose Skill Rating (SR) after every match
SR changes are influenced by:
- Individual performance
- Opponent skill level
- Match outcome and margin of victory
Loss Protection Systems
Several systems are in place to protect players from excessive SR loss:
- The first three losses of a season do not reduce SR
- Newly promoted players receive Rank Up Protection
- The first loss of each day does not deduct SR
- Losing a match with a quit matchmade teammate does not reduce SR
- Reduced SR loss applies if a teammate rejoins
