The final map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies ‘Rex Infernus’ has arrived, bringing with it a multitude of Side Easter Eggs to discover & complete! Ranging from Music Easter Eggs, free high tier loot, character side missions, & more, Rex Infernus will have no shortage of Side Easter Egg rewards to offer in BO7 Zombies. With the final battle against her Warden on the horizon, let’s take a look at the final batch of Side Easter Eggs you can complete within Black Ops 7 Zombies here on Rex Infernus in Season 5 Reloaded! Here’s what you need to know:
All Side Easter Eggs
Music Easter Egg
To activate the music Easter Egg on this map, you’ll need to locate three Mister Peeks headsets. You can help locate them by listening for their music playing nearby. These are the three headset locations within Rex Infernus:
Location 1
The first set of headphones you can find will be in Nxyara’s Main Chamber. It will be to the left of a wall-buy, higher up a corner ledge.
Location 2
The second set can be found at the Ruinas Insula. It can be found to the right of PHD Flopper, along the wall, & sitting on a window ledge.
Location 3
The final set can be found at the Aranea Insula. These will be located behind the Gobblegum Machine on the other side of the rock formation. You will see it on a skeleton, hidden behind a brick wall.
Once you’ve located all three, the music Easter Egg will begin to play!
Goat Mask
The Goat Mask is a unique piece you can equip to your player. This mask also will provide a special ability, where if you stand still in an area, a ring will appear around you that will damage the approaching undead. Like a mix of Stone Cold Stronghold & Ring of Fire. To obtain this, you’ll need to stay in Her House upon spawning into the game.
There’s a painting downstairs that if melee’d, will reveal a secret reward. This reward changes based off the round you’ve survived to. These are the different rewards:
- Melee the painting between round 5-6 to reveal free Essence.
- Melee the painting between round 7-8 to reveal a free Perk or a rare Aether Tool.
- Melee the painting on round 9 to reveal the Goat Mask.
Space Helmet
The Space Helmet is another cosmetic piece you can equip with additional benefits aside from odd fashion choices. The helmet provides the player with no fall damaged & will also increase the time you can use the Void Claw Grapple. To obtain this, you’ll need to grab pieces of Mister Peeks at the following locations:
- Location 1: In Her House upon spawning in, to the right of a knocked over lamp upstairs. You will find Mister Peeks.
*The following pieces can only be obtained after unlocking PAP & grabbing the Void Claw Grapple. You’ll have to use the Claw to grab them.
- Location 2: Along Caltheris Passage, to the right of bridge & floating in-front of the pillar furthest to the left, out of bounds.
- Location 3: At Ruinas Insula, you’ll need to stand in front of the Mystery Box spawn & look down to the large rock formation platform.
- Location 4: Aranea Insula, where if you look further down into the abyss near the exfil booth, you will see it floating along the rock wall.
- Location 5: Spira Insula, above the Juggernog machine, visible from the platform floating above the machine.
- Location 6: Nexus Forge, to the right of a Void Claw Grapple location. You can spot it between Dravakar & Veytharion’s temples.
Once you’ve collected all the parts, Mister Peeks will be assembled within Caltheris Main Chamber, on a second floor platform facing the center of the room. Upon interacting with him, you’ll be spawned into a Grapple Hook race. This will require you to grapple all the way to the end, which is in Nxyara’s Temple.
The faster you go, the better your rewards. This can be attempted every round as well. Rewards include:
- Free Perks
- Raygun
- Space Helmet (Complete the race in under 50 seconds)
Wardens’s Hat
The Warden’s Hat will give you invulnerability to spider webs. This can be really useful for the map with the spiders & the mama spider elites. It also comes in handy during the boss fight. To obtain the Warden’s Hat, you first need a mama spider to spawn in. This first happens on round 16, & will do so every 2-3 rounds after. Later in-game you may see them spawn more frequently.
After one spawns in, head over to the PAP & stay within close vicinity of it.Be sure you have the Void Claw & grapple on-top of the mama spider. Once you’re riding the spider, you’ll want to kill as many zombies as possible. This may take multiple attempts, multiple rounds, &/or multiple mama spiders.
Once you’ve eliminated enough zombies, the mama spider will then climb into the PAP. After doing this, the Warden’s Hat will rise from the PAP to claim.
Troll Mask
While wearing this mask, it will grant the player a brand new ammo mod type involving the twins. The twins will spawn in, along with a bolt of lightning that will blow some of the zombies away. To begin this however, you will need to have solved the puzzle in Nxyara’s Temple. Here’s a quick overview of how to solve it:
- Use PHD Flopper on a secret wall above Dravakar’s Templw entrance. Pick up the hidden crystal & place it into the empty holder within Nxyara’s Temple, along the wall.
- Grab the Astral Fire (grapple a purple orb into the PAP & crank the lever), bring it into Nxyara’s Temple & throw it towards the large eye shaped sculpt on the wall.
- Guide the purple orb that bounces to each crystal around the room into a doorway across the temple. You do this by turning the crystals along the wall using the Void Claw Grapple.
- Once it’s guided into & opens the door, head downstairs & interact with the roots. It will begin to drain your health to refill its own. Once it’s full, interact with the fruit to be brought into the astral plane.
From there, look toward the back of the forest area behind & to the right the broken up cabin, for a small on in the ground. Interact with it & then make your exit, grabbing the Wonder Weapon parts if you wish.
If you take a left at the broken house & run straight, you will find a blue box. Open up the blue box, & interact with one of the three items. These three items all will throw you into different mini games. These are the mini games:
- Interact with the Jump Rope
- Interacting with the jump rope will throw you into a jump rope mini game. You’ll need to time pressing your jump button before the rope hits your feet. Do this enough times successfully to win the game.
- This will spawn you back where you ate the fruit. You’ll need to reenter the astral plane, head back to the blue box, & interact with your next item.
- Interact with the Teddy Bear
- Interacting with the Teddy Bear will spawn Weeping Angel type zombies. They will only move if not being viewed directly. Your objective is to pick up all of the glowing purple toys on the ground.
- You can rotate clockwise or counter clockwise to find them. Headphones will also help in locating these better.
- Interact with the Mask
- Interacting with the mask will trigger a game of Hide-&-Seek. You’ll need to locate the twins. After you find them once, they will turn into blue ethereal orbs, & point off into a direction. You’ll want to follow which direction they go to find them next. Find the twins enough times & you’ll successfully complete the mini-game.
- After completing all the mini-games, you’ll need to reenter the forest & complete them all again on a harder difficulty. The timer on all of these minigame will be shortened, you’ll have less health on the teddy bear game, & you’ll have less grace attempts on the jump rope game.
- The twin mask will drop upon teleporting back along with other reward for completion.
Dance Competition
Using the Void Claw Grapple, you’ll want fire it at dig piles around the map. Eventually, you’ll come across one that when interacted, it will dispense a Gold Cassette. Take this over to a hole in the wall in the Aranea Insula. You will see a cassette player to insert that golden tape you picked up earlier.
Once you insert this, it will bring up a prompt to start a dance off in what’s a callback to the coffin dance Easter egg back in Die Maschine. After entering, all you’ll need to do is hit the corresponding keys to match what’s on the screen. The more sequences you successfully complete by the end, the better your reward will be once finished.
It can be done with multiple players, all competing for the #1 position, similar to the bowling Easter egg on Liberty Falls.
Bone Dig Piles
There are various bone dig piles scattered around the map. You can use the Void Claw Grapple on them. This will dig up Essence, salvage, even points. What you can also do is grapple the glowing purple orbs over the dig piles to increase value of the rewards. By doing this, you may be able to receive PAP crystals, free perk cans, & potentially even a Ray Gun.
Character Cutscenes
During special rounds, a fracture will appear somewhere within one of the 4 boss temples. It will be visible on the mini-map, & once interacted with will trigger a special in-game interaction with The Entity. These are the known locations it can spawn:
- Near the back exit of Nxyara’s Temple
- On the back wall near the Mystery Box spawn in Veytharion’s Temple
- On the opposite side of the crafting bench & lantern location in Caltheris Temple
- Opposite of a lantern location within Dravakar’s Temple
Every character has a special set of dialogue with the Entity in this interaction, & once finished will drop multiple rewards to pick up.
Corrupted Ultra Weapons
You can obtain one of the newly added Ultra Rarity Weapons, the TR2 or the Olympia. How you can get one of these will be based off the wall weapon you purchase.
- To obtain the Olympia, you’ll need to purchase the Breacher off the entrance wall infront of Caltheris Temple.
- To obtain the TR2, you’ll need to grab the Novaline from Dravakar’s Sanctuary.
After doing this, you’ll then need to PAP 3 different weapons. Wait for it to rain the next round on a special round. Once these requirements are met, you’ll notice the weapon you’d purchased will be glowing yellow.
Use the Void Claw to grapple a purple orb to the PAP & turn the crank to obtain an Astral Flame. Take this flame & throw it at the weapon you purchased. This will spawn an HVT you need to defeat. After defeating the HVT, the wall weapon will have changed to whichever Ultra Weapon you were seeking.
It’s recommend you grab an extra Grapple before grabbing the weapon, as upon picking it up, it will begin to damage you. Your goal is to get it to the PAP Machine before takes all your health. Interact with the PAP Machine to stop this process.
You’ll now have a corrupted version of the TR2 or the Olympia. It comes with a catch however, as it will damage you anytime you fire the weapon & miss. So be accurate with your shots when using the weapon.
Free Powerups
Within Rex Infernus, you can find miniature powerups in various places. Shooting these mini powerups will spawn a glowing Powerup for you to pickup & use in your game. Here’s all the different powerups you can find, & where you can find them:
- Max Ammo
- Double Points
- Instakill
- Max Armor
- Full Power
- Bonus Points
- Nuke
- Fire Sale
- Free Perk
