The Modern Warfare 3 Warzone Map Revealed Early

Warzone’s newest map will be Urzikstan. It was long rumored that Warzone’s newest map after the release of MW3 would be Las Almas, but we now know Warzone’s map after Modern Warfare 3’s launch will be Urzikstan instead. Urzikstan, Warzone’s next map, is rumored to launch during Season 1 of Modern Warfare III on December 5th, 2023. Are you ready for MWIII and the new Warzone map? Here’s what you need to know:

FIRST MAP IMAGE SPOTTED

With the imminent start of the COD NEXT reveal event, Activision posted several images showcasing what will be revealed on October 5th. One of the images gives us our first clear look at Urzikstan, which lines up with the additional details below. Fans spotted a redeploy drone in the distance, along with strikingly similar downtown and port locations as previously seen in Verdansk. Attendees of COD NEXT will get hands on with the next iteration of Warzone, while additional details will be shared to prep Urzikstan for launch with Season 01 in December.

URZIKSTAN

For many months, Modern Warfare 3’s release was rumored to bring Las Almas to the Warzone map pool. However, new teases and reports are now stating otherwise. While Las Almas has a heavy influence throughout MW2, albeit being featured in the Campaign and Multiplayer, it’s presence in MW3 will be put on the back-burner. What do we mean by this? Simply put, Las Almas is not the map coming to Warzone after the release of MW3. Instead, we are getting Urzikstan; this has been teased as far back as the original Warzone experience.

Urzikstan was also teased in MW2’s Season 5 Intro Cutscene during a conversation between Farah and Graves

WHAT HAPPENED TO LAS ALMAS?

According to insiders; Las Almas was repurposed to be Urzikstan. It’s believed that Urzikstan includes the remnants of the Las Almas Warzone map, and has been retextured to fit into a middle-eastern setting. This can be backed by creators who were flown out before the MW3 Reveal, who got to not only play the game, but see first looks at Zombies AND Warzone like the map reveal. It’s important to note that creators were never told the name of the map or much more else, but it’s claimed to have the same layout as Las Almas’ geographical map.

However, it’s great to note that the Raid Episodes all took place in Urzikstan in an underground bunker, meaning Urzikstan has been on Call of Duty’s radar for longer than we may believe.

ALL THE DETAILS

Urzikstan is apparently the map to make plenty of fans happy; as we before reported, Metaphor on X/Twitter, released info he was told about the newest Warzone map that we feel like we should bring back up:

Now, it’s important to note that since this original tweet, slide-cancelling WILL be in MW3 as confirmed by Call of Duty and Sledgehammer Games. Which gives this inside-scoop credibility, but also adds to leaks that were reported by the usual suspects on X/Twitter. For those that don’t know, it was leaked that the next Warzone map would have more remasters of older Call of Duty maps, and this next one is no different. Metaphor also has more to add when it comes to this information:

Verdansk had little-to-no remasters in it, but Al Mazrah had a couple. If this is true, and it’s looking like it’s likely, Urzikstan is bound to bring in nostalgia, which is what MW3 seems to be relying on.

As it’s well-known, Verdansk has a heavy presence in MW3’s Campaign, and with both cities being neighbors, this could open TONS of additional story possibilities including the upcoming Zombies mode, which is set in between MW2019 – MW2. Zombies will be set in Urzikstan judging from the official screenshot we have:

THE END

How do you feel about Urzikstan being the next Warzone map? If it’s layout is similar to Las Almas, then it’s got GREAT potential. Below is a video going more in-depth about Urzikstan and more:
