Activision holds a wide library of IPs & Licenses, like ‘Tony Hawk’s ‘Pro Skater’’. With recent teasers found in BO6, there’s speculation we may see a new Tony Hawk Project in the works. Today, we’re going over some history of the Tony Hawk games, a new teaser found, & the possibility of seeing Tony Hawk come to Black Ops 6.
Activision’s History with Tony
Activision & Tony Hawk share a history going all the way back to 1999. This is when the first entry in the ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater’ Series. Several ‘Pro Skater’ entries followed in the years after including:
- Pro Skater 2 (2000)
- Pro Skater 3 (2001)
- Pro Skater 4 (2002)
- Underground (2003) & Underground 2 (2004)
- Pro Skater HD (2012)
- & Various Other Titles
Activision would go on to release ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5’ in (2015). This would be the final release as the license deal was up, with Activision deciding not to renew it. However, Activision decided to renew the license & release a remake of the first 2 Pro Skater entries. ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2’ released in (2020).
A New Project in the Works?
Since 2020, there’s been no word on a new game in the works, or remasters/remakes being made either. Though, there have been rumblings that a remaster/remake of ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4’ could be releasing sooner rather than later.
Precessional Skater Tyshawn Jones dropped a comment about being in a Tony Hawk remaster, though he didn’t specify what the project was. Or maybe, it’s a new project releasing altogether, time will tell. Let’s get into where these rumors gain some more traction.
NEW Teasers Found
With the release of Season 2 Reloaded in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 & Warzone, we got a new teaser hinting at the possible announcement date for a new Tony Hawk project. If you go into the MP map ‘Grind’ on BO6, you can find a TV screen in the Skate shop that displays 03.04.25.
This obviously hints to the date March 4th 2025. But could it also possibly hint at ‘Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4’ getting remastered & released this year? It would be cool to see those games remastered after two decades!
Tony Hawk Bundle?
With all these rumors going around, as well as the new teaser found on Grind, is it possible we see a Tony Hawk Operator come to Black Ops 6? Or perhaps some other tie-in to this new project we could be seeing soon. Nothing is off the table for Call of Duty.
It is worth noting that Grind Map was just added to Multiplayer in BO6. There’s also the new melee weapon, the Skateboard, that was just added in the TMNT Crossover. Maybe a skin for the weapon of Tony Hawk’s first skateboard?
