Call of Duty has had awesome crossovers the past few years; The Boys, Snoop Dogg, Terminator, and Tomb Raider just to name a few. It seems they aren’t stopping with Modern Warfare 3, for rumors have risen about a potential The Walking Dead crossover coming to MW3! Modern Warfare III is already starting off strong, and if we get a massive crossover like this so soon, then MWIII is going to have a great year. Here’s what you need to know:
RICK GRIMES AND MICHONNE COMING TO THE GAME
Recently, thanks to the usual leakets on Twitter/X, there have been references in the game files to Rick and Michonne Operators being in the game! These files were found alongside the newest The Boys Event that’s coming soon!
This crossover is most likely in reference to the newest “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” spinoff that’s based around Rick and Michonne! So as of right now, we may not get Daryl or Negan to name a few, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility considering Daryl and Negan are in their own show. If The Boys gets a second event, then TWD could get more!
THE WALKING DEAD WEAPONS UPDATE
Just a few days ago, known Call of Duty leakers have reported that a sword and bow are slated to drop in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. While it’s possible these weapons are independent of any collaboration, it can’t be a coincidence that Michonne’s weapon of choice is a sword, while a bow has been seen several times in the TV series.
Ammo types for the bow were also leaked, including gas, shotgun, broad, standard and more. Fans have expressed interest in also seeing operator skins for characters like Daryl and Negan, both of which have been featured in new spin off shows on AMC.
RELEASE DATE FOR TWD CROSSOVER
If history is anything to go off of, then these bundles will most likely release in anticipation for the upcoming release of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live which airs on February 25th, 2024. Season 2 for Modern Warfare 3 begins on February 7th, shortly after a second “The Boys” collab which is paired with January 17th’s mid season one update. It’s likely this Walking Dead collaboration will launch after the beginning of Season 2 to space out the crossovers.
