Should maps be reused and repurposed from other game modes?
A healthy balance of releasing original environments along with repurposing existing ones is what has proven to keep the community satisfied. While the occasional remake or repurposed setting is often encouraged, fans truly come to appreciate a map when it’s not one they’ve already played for countless hours in a different game mode, or one they’ve seen remastered in a previous title. Campaign areas turned into multiplayer maps is a safer approach, rather than cutting sections out of the game’s battle royale points of interest. Players typically only run through a campaign once or twice, which means they’ll hardly recognize if a level is configured into a core or gunfight experience. Thus far, it seems like a safe bet to reuse Al Mazrah sections for battle maps, while saving the original map design for core and gunfight.
