Modern Warfare 3 is officially being revealed on August 17th, 2023. Las Almas is reportedly the next Warzone map that was previously featured in Modern Warfare 2 (2022). Several locations from Las Almas have released as maps in MWII, but the map in it’s entirety is rumored for launch in Modern Warfare 3.

ALL POINTS OF INTEREST IN LAS ALMAS
During the beta window for Modern Warfare 2, hackers and leakers found a list of points of interest that weren’t for Al Mazrah or any other Warzone 2 map. The list also lines up with specific sections of Las Almas that are already in Modern Warfare 2 via Campaign or Multiplayer. Favela is listed as POI for Las Almas, which would be a retcon since the 2009 version did not take place in Mexico.
- Mil
- Amazon
- Puerto
- Mall
- Baseball
- Storage
- Narcos
- Favela
- Nogales
- Boardwalk
- Historic
- Prison
- Compound
- Power Plant
- Air Strip
THE TAC MAP FOR LAS ALMAS
In Modern Warfare 2’s campaign, a physical map of Las Almas was discovered which is likely similar to the official tac map we’ll be seeing for the Warzone version of the environment, even if it’s not a 1:1. The community took a screen grab of the Campaign tac map, which Espresso then enhanced via photoshop in his Youtube video.

HOW YOU CAN PLAY LAS ALMAS EARLY, WITH A TWIST
Fans can already hop into Las Almas to get a taste of what the map may play like inside of Warzone. The first time players spawned into the environment was through Ground War, followed by the two 6v6 maps that dropped during launch, which also take place in Las Almas. Just recently, a gunfight map named Mercado and a 6v6 map named Punta Mar released, which also take place in the upcoming Warzone map. Ironically, only three campaign missions take place on Al Mazrah, while six take place on Las Almas. These are the MW2 experiences, in order of release, that currently take place on Las Almas:
- Cartel Protection (Campaign Mission)
- Close Air (Campaign Mission)
- El Sin Nombre (Campaign Mission)
- Alone (Campaign Mission)
- Prison Break (Campaign Mission)
- Ghost Team (Campaign Mission)
- Mercado Las Almas (6v6 Map)
- Santa Sena Border Crossing (6v6 Map)
- Santa Sena (Ground War Map)
- Guijarro (Ground War Map)
- Shoothouse (6v6 Map)
- Mercado (Gunfight Map)
- Punta Mar (6v6 Map)
FIRST DETAILS ON THE LAS ALMAS WARZONE MAP
Just recently, content creator Metaphor leaked early details on the upcoming Warzone map, as apart of the integration with Modern Warfare 3. Metaphor previously revealed accurate and early details on Modern Warfare 2’s launch, before the COD NEXT event last year. Although Metaphor didn’t explicitely state that the map he saw was Las Almas, it lines up with earlier reports that are shared down below. Here’s a roundup of the information he shared:
- No giant hill in the middle of the map, could be leveled like Vondel.
- Less open fields and more buildingds.
- Verdansk inspiration, none from Al Mazrah or Caldera.
- Downtown POI features ‘Overwatch’ (MW3, 2011).
- The ‘Countdown’ map will be included (COD 4, 2007).
- Plays smoother and faster than Modern Warfare 2 (2022).
RELEASE DATE OF LAS ALMAS IN WARZONE
According to Insider Gaming and their sources, Las Almas is indeed the next Warzone map which will release with the Modern Warfare 3 integration this Winter. They’ve claimed that Favela is a point of interest, which lines up with old rumors that the classic map would be featured in an upcoming Warzone map, while it would also be brought into Multiplayer as some point. All Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps were once rumored to release as apart of a Year 2 expansion for Modern Warfare II, which have since been saved for COD 2023. Insider Gaming claims that Season 1 of Modern Warfare 3 begins on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, which is when Warzone is scheduled to receive it’s next map.
