Season 4 of MWII is overhauling Warzone in a big way. Here’s what’s coming in the newest update:
NEW PLAYGROUND:
Vondel is the new map coming to Warzone and DMZ as a new exclusion zone to play around in. The map will launch with Resurgence and DMZ support at launch and will feature Battle Royale support at a later time.

NEW GAMEMODE FOR WARZONE:
Lockdown is the newest gamemode coming to Warzone in Season 4. It is an objective-based gamemode inspired by Hardpoint from Multiplayer and will last “about double the time” of a regular Hardpoint match. The launch window for this mode is currently projected at June 28th!

Lockdown will task multiple squads to capture and hold down zones around Vondel in an effort to win the match rather than just being the last squad standing. It will be a limited-time mode that will be thrown into the playlist rotation after it’s gone.
RESURGENCE CHANGES:
Vondel will include Resurgence just like Ashika Island, but it will bring new quality of life improvements that will carry over between both maps: Dynamic Resurgence Timers and the Vengeance Icon.

Dynamic Resurgence Timers automatically adjusts a squad’s resurgence timers should one or more squad members disconnect from the session. This means should your squad have less members than a full-squad, your squad will receive the benefit of a shorter timer to get you back into the game. However, if all squad members that disconnect rejoin the session, the timer will return to normal.
The Vengeance Icon is a new way to gain vengeance on other players who eliminate your squad members. After your squad member gets eliminated, while their resurgence timer is active, an icon will show the location of the player who eliminated them in an effort to get vengeance and shave a few seconds off the resurgence timer while soothing any anger you might’ve had from the elimination. This feature is super useful for those who don’t have mics, or are bad at giving callouts.

THERE’S A FOG ROLLING IN:
In Vondel there’s a new Dynamic Fog feature that will appear in both DMZ and Warzone.
Due to Vondel’s geographical location, it is subject to fog during certain inclement weather conditions. The fog will rarely show up in Battle Royale and Resurgence modes, so the weather will usually be sunny and clear.
The fog has different density instances. In one instance, the fog could be light and clear enough to see at medium ranges, but in others the fog can be thick and call for close-quarters-combat, thermal scopes, or to hide and check corners.

SANDSTORM IS GONE IN AL MAZRAH:
The sandstorm in Al Mazrah is gone, but it left remnants on the map. There are now dunes that are piled up near TV Tower, the Embassy, and Highrise just to name a few. The highways and roadways are also now covered in sand. There is destruction around certain buildings now as well, which provides new ways to fight and traverse around certain areas in and out of the city.
