BOOTS BREAKDOWN
Now, it’s time to breakdown these new gear options. We’ll start with boots:
CANVAS SNEAKERS
This gear option is guaranteed to please the community; the Canvas Sneakers are essentially Dead Silence, but this time, it’s not a field upgrade! This means you can use Dead Silence the whole match and not have to wait on a recharge for an ability. For those that don’t know, Dead Silence is a perk that eliminates your footstep noise, making you silent while walking and running. In Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, this was brought back as the Ninja perk, but in MW2019 and MW2 they were nowhere to be seen in the perk slot. Great to see it back!

STALKER BOOTS
The Stalker Boots gear option is meant to increase strafe and ADS speed. This adds to the movement changes that are already coming to MW3; helping players move faster by using gear is a good addition to have. This perk is similar to the Stalker perk from previous entries, and slightly acts like those stock or grip attachment benefits that have been around for the last couple of years.
TACTICAL PADS
The Tactical Pads gear option increases slide distance and allows for full ADS while sliding. It also increases stance transition speed & crouched movement speeds. This perk has some resemblances to the Gung-Ho perk from Advanced Warfare and WWII, while also utilizing the attachment benefits from the last few years.
ULTRA LIGHT BOOTS
The Ultra Light Boots gear option increases movement, swimming speed, and reduces the noise you make while swimming. This resembles the Lightweight perk from previous titles, and was nearly a go to perk back in the day for getting that maximum movement speed. This perk was in Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, but was missing from MW2. Again, Sledgehammer seems to be favoring the players lust for speed.
RUNNING SNEAKERS
The Running Sneakers gear option increases tac-sprint duration and reduces it’s refresh time. This perk has been in MW2019, Vanguard, and MW2 in the form of Double Time, and has been typically useful as a Lightweight replacement, especially for those who loved to slide cancel in the games that allowed it. Now that slide cancelling is back, this perk may stay the go-to for those players.
CLIMBING BOOTS
The Climbing Boots gear option increased the climbing speed and mantling speed for players. This gear option also decreases fall damage. This resembles some of the Commando perk from the original MW2 (2009) which increased knifing lunge range, and when made a pro perk, gave you ZERO fall damage. While these boots don’t give you an increased knifing range and only decrease the amount of fall damage you can take, it’s still a nice addition.

GLOVES BREAKDOWN
Now it’s time to breakdown the gloves:
ASSAULT GLOVES
The Assault Gloves gear option improves accuracy and ADS time while jumping. Again, MW3 really wants to give players the freedom to have as much movement as possible. This used to be possible via gunsmith attachments and their benefits, so if those return, then pair those benefits with this perk and you should certainly be a forced to be reckoned with while jumping.
CUSTOM GLOVES
The Custom Gloves gear option increases weapon swap speed. This is similar to the Fast Hands perk that gave you the ability to swap weapons fast AND reload faster. Since the Custom Gloves only increase weapon swap speed, you’ll have to decide what you really need the most in your playstyle. Maybe these gloves will give you speed reload by launch since no other gloves give you speed reload, but as of now, this is all they give.
SCAVENGER GLOVES
The Scavenger Gloves gear option resupplies ammo and throwing knives from dead players. This is the Scavenger perk from MANY previous titles. Scavenger does the EXACT same thing as the gloves do in MW3, and is helpful to those who constantly need ammo at their disposal.

SPECIALIST GLOVES
The Specialist Gloves gear option allows you to throw equipment farther and reset the fuse timer on thrown back grenades. This is essentially the EOD of Bomb Squad perk without the benefits of less explosive damage. There have been some really funny clips of two people using this perk and playing a game of hot potato, so I’m glad it’s back, even if it’s not that useful for most situations.
TACTICAL COMBAT GLOVES
The Tactical Combat Gloves enables you to reload while sprinting. This is also part of the Gung-Ho perk which essentially let you shoot your gun while sprinting and sliding while also giving you the ability to reload while sprinting or sliding. The Gung-Ho perk as a whole isn’t back as it’s own individual perk, but you could most likely make a Gung-Ho loadout!

MARKSMAN GLOVES
The Marksman Gloves gear option reduces sway and flinch while ADS. This is taken from the gunsmith attachment benefits once again. If those benefits return (which they most certainly will) then you’ll be able to make some CRAZY operator builds.
THE END
