MW3 Zombies Season 1 has added a Hidden Easter Egg Boss Fight. in addition to many other secrets this Season, the ‘USB Easter Egg’ allows players to fight a RED Aether Worm in MWIII Zombies Season 1 with plenty of rewards once completing it! Here’s everything you need to know about the USB Easter Egg in order to fight the RED Aether Worm in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Season 1:
FIND THE WALL WITH PICTURES
Located around Urzikstan are a few rooms that contain pictures on a wall. As of now, a room in Kotovo Blocks and one in Orlov Military Base contain these picture walls. The pictures on the wall will indicate where players can find four UAV towers.
Players will notice the pictures on the wall will be the same regardless if they go to Kotovo or Military base, but the pictures themselves will be different in each match, confirming several spawn points for the UAV towers.
COLLECT 4 USB STICKS
Found at four UAV Towers around the map, you must obtain 4 different USB sticks. You will need an Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta USB stick. Interact with the UAV Tower to dispense a USB stick, which can also be done multiple times after waiting on a cooldown timer.
These USB sticks cannot be stowed and exfiled with, and will only be viable for the match that a player is in.

INSERT USB STICKS IN 4 REFRACTORS
Once you have collected all 4 USB Sticks, make your way to the refractor site on the map. Players can find the refractor site by pinpointing where two side by side ammo caches are located. Four refractor machines will be find at this site, which is typically not far from when the Aether storm will begin to spread.
IMPORTANT: Similar to the DMZ Serpentine Camo grind, you can only progress and place the USB Sticks inside the refractors once the AETHER STORM covers makes contact with them. Once you put all of the USB Sticks into the four separate Refractors, the Red Aether Worm Boss will spawn.
DEFEAT RED AETHER WORM
This is by far the toughest Aether Worm variant yet. It has more health, and shoots Mimics at you! Make sure you come well equipped with a 6 man squad, Tier 3 Pack-a-Punched guns, and anything else you may need to survive!
The red worm behaves similarly to the ACT 4 worm, who emits a laser attack which can insta down players. You can also be eaten by the Red Worm, but can perform a counter attack to avoid being downed if the player shoots and attempts to run while inside the worm’s mouth.
Most players forget that they can replenish their gas mask health by using the ammo cache, which is vital in surviving this boss fight. Throwing decoys or monkeys to distract zombies, while maximizing firepower and damage to the red worm is very important to focus on.
Once defeated, various loot items will drop. Don’t worry! A Dark Aether Rift will also spawn for an instant exfil! This will help you get out of the Aether Storm as fast as possible to avoid squad elimination.
