Modern Warfare 3 will have a crossover with The Walking Dead after many years of fan request! As it’s known, The Walking Dead The One’s Who Live will crossover with Modern Warfare III with Rick and Michonne joining the roster of MWIII. Today, we have more stuff relating the event including a new Lucille camo and the return of a gamemode from Call of Duty WWII! Ready to see what’s coming to this MW3 crossover? Here’s what you need to know:
RICK AND MICHONNE OPERATORS
Recently, thanks to the usual leakers on Twitter/X, there have been references in the game files to Rick and Michonne Operators being in the game! This crossover is most likely in reference to the newest “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” spinoff.
RICK GRIMES BATTLEPASS OFFERING
The official Season 2 key art gives us our first glimpse of Rick as a playable operator in MW3 Season 2. Considering all season key art typically showcases who the battlepass operator is, it’s likely Rick won’t just be in a 2400CP bundle.
Although it’s possible Rick may be tied to a standard crossover bundle, it’s possible that the Walking Dead will be the theme of the Season 2 battlepass, with other zombie cosmetics in various sectors.
SEASON 2 CROSSOVER TRAILER
In collaboration with AMC, Call of Duty uploaded a recreation of the Walking Dead opening, themed around Season 2 and the return of Fortune’s Keep.
The trailer, which I break down in my video linked below, confirms Rick and Michonne will be operators in MW3 Season 2. An image seemingly confirms Zombies will be present on Fortune’s Keep, whether that means on the Warzone version or a MWZ version.
NEW WEAPONS FOUND
In the files, there are references to two new weapons coming: Recurve Bow and the Sword. Both weapons have a history in The Walking Dead, especially the Sword considering it’s the weapon of choice of Michonne. These are more than likely tied to the crossover.
“LUCILLE” INSPIRED CAMO
With the release of Season 1 Reloaded; the usual leakers have found a Barbed Wire camo. It’s rumored to be releasing in an upcoming crossover in a future season. For those of you that don’t know, there is a bat in The Walking Dead helmed by the popular character Negan Smith. His baseball bat is wrapped in barbed wire and is named Lucille after his departed life that he lost during the apocalypse.
This camo will most likely be tied to an event similar to The Boys Event where you’ll need to do challenges in an effort to obtain the camo as the final reward. Hopefully we get a baseball bat weapon with a Lucille variant.
THE RETURN OF HORDEPOINT
To top off the information on this upcoming crossover; Hordepoint from Call of Duty WWII will make it’s return!
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Hordepoint, the objective is to capture Hardpoint capture points, but there will be Zombies that spawn at the points being captured that will attack both defenders and attackers. It’s a fun twist on Hardpoint that can get intense near the end of the match. In WWII, the Zombies were modeled after the WWII Zombies, so they will probably be reskinned to look like the MW3 Zombies!
