Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 is adding upwards of six new multiplayer maps to 6v6. MW3 Season Two will feature both original multiplayer maps and carry forward maps from Modern Warfare 2. Here’s every new multiplayer map coming to MWIII Season 02 on February 7th.
Modern Warfare 2 Carry Forward Maps
The pre season of Modern Warfare 3 introduced carry forward maps from MW2 (2022) through the likes of Shipment, Mercado Las Almas, Crown Raceway, Shoothouse and Farm 18. Sledgehammer has rotated in a MWII Carry Forward mosh pit playlist occasionally, which is scheduled to return this week.
Season 1 Reloaded leaks suggest that MW2 maps such as Zaya Observatory, Breenbergh Hotel are set to join the map pool in Modern Warfare III. It’s unclear if these will replace any of the existing carry forward maps or if they’ll join the existing moshpit playlist.
Classic Map Remakes
While upcoming maps for gunfight or ground war have yet to be revealed, it’s very likely classic maps will get added either through those modes or even classic 6v6 in a future update. Modern Warfare III launched with 16 remastered maps, so they’ll likely hold off on releasing too many more.
Dataminers found references to a fan favorite map ‘Das Haus’ from Vanguard, which is reportedly getting a 24/7 playlist during a future season. This will likely be the first post launch remastered map that will provide the same small scale gameplay as Meat, Shipment or Rust.
Original 6v6 Maps Confirmed
Shortly after the launch of MW3, Sledgehammer Games confirmed that three original 6v6 maps would be released in both season one and in season two to kick off the post launch. Season 1 offered fans Greece, Meat and Rio, while the original maps for Season 2 have yet to be revealed.
It’s likely Season 2 will launch with two original maps, while the mid season will offer one more to round out that content update. As far as maps for Season 3 and beyond, it’s unknown if they’ll be as many originals as we saw in Season 1 and Season 2.
