Modern Warfare 3 has had some obscure crossovers since its launch and has kept bringing the heat with each new season. Currently, there’s an unexpected crossover for Gundam that’s going to be in MW3! While Call of Duty just announced the Season 4 Gundam event, there are a few MWIII teasers that may have gone unnoticed, which we’ll breakdown here today. Here’s everything you need to know about the MW3 Season 4 Gundam crossover, operators and rewards which should be dropping on May 29th:
SEASON 4 CROSSOVER EVENTS LEAKED
With the release of Season 3 Reloaded came information from the usual suspects on X/Twitter about upcoming content. A particular piece of information found, was upcoming collabs with MW3; with Gondam being included.
We previously reported on the Fallout crossover, which may not begin until later in Season 4. These leaked crossovers are allegedly tied to challenge events, meaning we’ll get more than just bundles for these collaborations.
SEASON 4 GUNDAM TEASER
The official Call of Duty account unexpectedly teased the Gundam crossover this past Sunday, which revealed a number of details. First, it appears the mobile suit is coming to Season 4, either as a crossplay outfit or a standalone (and human sized) operator.
Apart from RX78-2 coming to Modern Warfare III, fans who zoomed into the trailer pointed out an image which may hint at either Zaku or M506 who can also be added within Season 4.
Most noticeably, a 6v6 multiplayer map coming to Season 4 will be Tokyo, which is a location that got teased in the recent teaser trailer a few days ago.
GUNDAM BEAM SABER WEAPON
Following the launch of Season 3 Reloaded, data miners found what appears to be a finishing move featuring the Beam Saber. The Beam Saber is derived from Gundam and the icon for this finisher can be seen in the new teaser trailer.
Rumors suggest the Beam Saber will be a blueprint for the Soulrender melee weapon which released during Season 2.
WHAT COULD WE GET?
While details are still a bit scarce for the Gundam collaboration, it’s likely that this crossover follows a similar beat to the Warhammer event from Season 2. Expect a few different characters in bundles, a potential challenge event with themed rewards and maybe even an LTM.
It’s possible the battlepass features some Gundam themed cosmetics as the previous two seasons featured licensed content through Rick Grimes and Snoop Dogg, but that’s pure speculation.
WHEN COULD WE GET IT?
Like said previously, it’s rumored for this crossover is set to begin with Season 4 on May 29th, 2024. Whether it’s at launch, or being saved for in or mid season is unknown. Considering the teaser trailer for Gundam, it’s safe to assume this crossover will kickstart Season 4 before the likes of Fallout or The Crow.
