Modern Warfare 3 Beta Download, Start Times & File Size

Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer gameplay is set to be revealed on October 6th, during COD NEXT. The MW3 Beta is scheduled to launch just a day later, as we saw last year following COD NEXT for MWII. The MWIII early access beta will be available first on Playstation platforms.

When is The Playstation Modern Warfare 3 Beta

Sledgehammer recently confirmed the MW3 Multiplayer beta begins on Friday, October 6th, at 10AM PT for those who pre ordered the game on Playstation. Those who did NOT pre order MWIII can still jump in for free beginning on Sunday, October 8th at 10am PT. The Playstation exclusive beta for Modern Warfare 3 will conclude on Tuesday, October 10th, at 10am PT.

When is The Xbox & PC Modern Warfare 3 Beta

Sledgehammer also confirmed the MW3 Multiplayer beta will begin on Thursday, October 12th, at 10AM PT for those who pre ordered the game on Xbox and PC. During this time, all Playstation players can jump in, regardless of pre order status. Those who did NOT pre order MWIII on Xbox and PC can play for free beginning on Saturday, October 14th at 10am PT. The Modern Warfare 3 Beta will then conclude for all platforms on Monday, October 16th at 10am PT.

What Content is in The Modern Warfare 3 Beta

It’s been confirmed that at launch, all 16 original maps from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) will be available, meaning at least a few of those modern day remasters will be featured in the beta. A recent blogpost also confirmed that the MWIII Beta will feature ground war experiences and other modes, as well as new loadout options to choose from. The Beta for MW2 last year offered a total of 6 Multiplayer maps and around 8 modes to select. The MW3 Beta is expected to feature a similar offering.

How to Preload The Modern Warfare 3 Beta

As we saw with the MWII Beta last year, the patch became discoverable in the Playstation database around four days before the early access period began, while the preload itself became installable on Wednesday, just two days later. If MW2 is anything to go off of, then around October 2nd should be when the patch is found in the database, revealing it’s file size, while the download should be available on October 4th, two days before the beta starts. Xbox and PC typically don’t receive preloads, so players on those platforms will have to download the beta right before the Beta begins on Friday, October 6th.

File Size For The Modern Warfare 3 Beta

While Modern Warfare 3 is bound to be similar to MW2 in terms of scale and size, the patch for the Beta is likely to sit at around 15-30GB depending on region or platform. Last year, the MWII Beta sat around 27-34GB for Playstation, while it was 35GB total on all Xbox Platforms. PC specifications required 25GB of free space, while the Beta itself only sat at around 17-19GB on Steam and Battlement. The exact file size is bound to be revealed for the MWIII Beta after COD NEXT this fall.

Will There Be a Zombies Beta

Never before has the Call Of Duty community seen a Beta for a new Zombies mode, but times are forever changing. With MW3 Zombies offering the largest experience to date, consisting of a DMZ Outbreak hybrid, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to see an experimental demo of some sort before the November 10th launch. Many Zombie fans have claimed a beta for a Round Based map wouldn’t be smart, but a demo for an Onslaught or Outbreak type mode would be exciting. It’s currently unknown when MWIII Zombies is set to be revealed to the public.

Will There Be a New Warzone Map Beta

The recent COD Blog confirmed that a new Warzone map will be revealed at COD NEXT, as we saw last year with Al Mazrah. While the live streamed event already serves as a small Beta, with dozens of creators playing the map early, it would be beneficial to have the rest of the community try the map out before it’s launch in December with Season 1. With Warzone receiving an overhaul to implement all of the MWIII movement changes, the game is about to change drastically. The only Call of Duty Battle Royale to receive a Beta was Blackout, after the Multiplayer Beta concluded for Black Ops 4.
