With the launch of Season 5 for Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone on August 2nd, fans are curious to know the install size for their platform. Call of Duty Season 5 for Modern Warfare II & Warzone begins at 9am PT, 11am CT, 12pm EST. Here’s what we know so far about the preload for the upcoming title update.
SEASON 5 PRELOAD SIZE (APPROX)
According to Playstation Game Size, the season 5 patch will be relatively small but still in the ball park of previous seasons for Modern Warfare 2. Although Playstation Game Size is restricted from viewing the exact size of the patch, he was able to report that each individual pack in Modern Warfare 2 will be receiving a patch.
Typically, seasonal updates range from 9-14GB total. Season 5 isn’t adding in any new maps for Warzone or DMZ, so we wouldn’t expect the patch to be as big this time around. Funny enough, the updated icon for Season 5 cuts off Graves, despite him being a major focus of the upcoming release.
EARLY ACCESS
Preloads for post launch seasons in Modern Warfare 2019 – Vanguard often gave players access to new content early via private matches, several days before the official launch of the season. Players would come to expect early previews of the new weapons, modes and skins at the menu upon installing the preload. Beginning with Season 2 however, Modern Warfare 2 solved this “issue” by delaying the preload install until the exact start of the season itself. It remains to be seen when Season 5’s preload will become available for download, install, and whether or not any content will be playable before the launch window on August 2nd.
