8 NEW Operators Coming to Call of Duty

Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 is currently scheduled for release on August 2nd, according to the in game battlepass timer. Everything you need to know about the actual content coming can be found here. As of now, around eight new operators have been leaked following the launch of Season 4 Reloaded. We’ve never seen more than three to four new operators added in a single season, so the chances some of these characters are for a Season 6 are high.

The Battlepass Operator

Phillip Graves quickly became a fan favorite following the Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Although he was presumed dead following his tank exploding, post launch intel and recent leaks have teased his return. The usual suspects on Twitter revealed that Graves is seemingly the focus and battlepass operator of Season 5. Graves may have tricked Task Force 141 into believing he was manually controlling the tank, or he somehow survived the explosion. Infinity Ward has yet to reveal the whereabouts of General Shepherd, who went off the grid at the end of the Campaign. It’s also likely we’ll receive a cinematic cutscene explaining Graves’ return on August 2nd.

Mace Returns From Modern Warfare 2019

Hardcore Modern Warfare fans have been asking for the return of Mace, an operator added during Season 2 of that game’s cycle. Mace was once an ally of Ghost, before becoming a mercenary for hire. Mace later joined the Jackals, a private military company under the leadership of Viktor “Zane” Metiko after going into the slums of South Africa. The Jackals worked under the branch of Allegiance, a faction sent to Verdansk alongside the Coalition to stop Al-Qatala. Graves rebuilding Shadow Company and hiring Mace would make for an interesting storyline to end Modern Warfare 2’s lifecycle. It’s rumored Mace will be apart of an Operator bundle, likely going for 2400 COD Points.

New Characters Coming to Modern Warfare 2

Like we saw with characters such as Izzy or Ana Vega, a slew of new operators are scheduled to release via operator bundles later this year. The new operator codenames that we’re found may or may not be the actual names of these characters, as everything is always subject to change. All new operators are typically released in tracer bundles that cost upwards of 2400 COD points. Some of these characters may be launching in Season 5 Reloaded or later:

  • Ivan
  • Nolan
  • Oz
  • Female Mil Sim

The Licensed Celebrity Operators in Season 5

Following the mid season four update, the usual Twitter leakers found references to artists 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj operator packs coming to Modern Warfare 2. Nicki Minaj was previously featured in the marketing leading up to launch, alongside Pete Davidson and Lil Baby. Cardi B was originally apart of a multi million dollar partnership with Call of Duty which fell through following her legal troubles. 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj will likely have militarized looks, similar to the World Cup athletes and Kevin Durant who were also featured in 2400 COD point bundles.
