Season 5 of Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone begins on August 2nd, at 9am PT, 11am CT, 12pm EST. It’s rumored to include fan favorite character ‘Phillip Graves’ as well as bring us the reveal event for Modern Warfare 3 inside of Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone. With that being said, take all of this info with a grain of salt as not much confirmed for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Season 5, this is just a collection of confirmed and rumored content launching for each mode:

MODERN WARFARE 3 REVEAL
Call of Duty confirmed that the Modern Warfare 3 Reveal Event will happen during Season 5. Now we don’t know if this means launch or mid-season, but previous rumors have suggested an August 1st Reveal. Knowing Season 5 will be launching August 2nd, we can only assume that we will be starting off this season with a bang.
Also previous rumors have stated that the event will be exclusive to DMZ, and reveal the title in the extraction mode. Personally, I think this is great because DMZ has been an amazing expansion to the Call of Duty ecosystem. On top of the story being directly tied into DMZ, it seems like the perfect fit for some sort of mission to reveal Modern Warfare 3.
GLOBAL CONTENT – WEAPONS, OPERATORS, AND MORE
New Weapons – MCX Rattler SMG and 2011 Pistol
It’s very possible our 2 Weapons in the Season 5 Battle Pass could be the MCX Rattler SMG and the 2011 Pistol. Not much more is known about the weapons, only that pictures leaked online of the UI Images for the MCX Rattler and its associated Calling Cards.
Operators – Graves, Mace, and More…
Yes, you read that right, Graves is set to return in Season 5. He will most likely be the main focus of this Season, as his return has been long awaited by many since his supposed death for the end of the Modern Warfare 2 Campaign. Among Graves, familiar face ‘Mace’ from Modern Warfare 2019 has also been found in the files by many people online, he will be getting an Operator Bundle. Other operators include the names of Ivan and Nolan, who will each have their own Operator Bundles
Crossover Bundles – 21 Savage, Nicki Minaj and More?
Last week, rumors suggested we are getting rappers 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj as operators inside of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone. Not much more is known at the moment, other then they will have their own operator bundles, equipped with blueprints, etc.
MULTIPLAYER CONTENT – NEW MAPS AND MODES
NEW MAPS – 6v6 and Gunfight
Officially, we know little to nothing about what maps will be coming with Season 5. The current trend seems to be one 6v6 remake, one 6v6 battle royale map section, and two gunfight maps. We can also expect the usual one or two Battle Maps to be added as well. Wish we had more on this topic, but sadly as of now, we do not.
New Modes – Rapture and Havoc
The Rapture and Havoc modes have been leaked online for months from many sources, it is unknown if we will be seeing them this season as they have been in the game for months, but it is content that is sitting there ready to go.
Daily Login Bonus
New to the franchise, a daily login bonus. This will reward the player with 7 different rewards for logging on for a week straight. With the final reward which looks to be an M4 blueprint, this should drive some more people to get on the game each day if they aren’t already.
Edit: This has been added on July 19th, 2023. Ends in 14 days, when Season 5 Launches on August 2nd.
WARZONE – NEW MODES, MECHANICS, AND FIXES
New Mode – ARMORED ROYALE
A few days ago, an icon for the Armored Royale mode leaked out on twitter. This can only mean it will be making its way into Warzone during Season 5 or later. As a returning mode from the original Warzone, fans should be pleasantly surprised with this as it created a lot of fun moments for players.
New QOL Fixes/Changes
As with any Seasonal update, it usually comes with many QOL changes and fixes to make Warzone more enjoyable. These fixes wont be detailed until the patch notes release an hour before the Season 5 launch.
NEW EASTER EGG (?)
We know the studios who work on Warzone love their easter eggs, and more recently with Vondel, it added the ‘Body Scan’ Easter Egg which rewarded you with a ‘Rise Up’ Lachmann Sub blueprint. I would surprised if the team added another easter egg which rewards us with a brand new blueprint again, or we could just see a more smaller scale easter egg, like the Seal Easter Egg on Ashika Island.
DMZ – NEW FEATURES, WEAPON CASE, AND BUILDABLE BLUEPRINT
While DMZ content is up in the air, we can make a good guess based on previous seasonal updates for the mode.
MODERN WARFARE 3 REVEAL EVENT
Rumors suggest that the Modern Warfare 3 Reveal Event will take place inside of DMZ. Most likely on Al Mazrah, it will be interesting to see how Infinity Ward handle a reveal event in such a unique mode like DMZ, only time will tell.
NEW WEAPON CASE/BLUEPRINT BUILD (?)
Pure speculation, but it would be nice to have another weapon case or blueprint build to grind for in Season 5. DMZ’s Season 4 Reloaded update didn’t add much to the mode, so we’re expecting it to come back with a plethora of content to make up for that. A new weapon case and blueprint build grind would make up for that.
FAN REQUESTED FEATURES (?)
Again, pure speculation, but it would be interesting to see some fan requested features like an In-Game ATM or Dynamic Menu Map inside of the FOB. These changes will continue to give DMZ more and more depth and only continue to make it better.
