MW3 Vortex Maps Revealed
The Season 1 blogpost confirmed that the MW3 Vortex mode will be playable on Satan’s Quarry, Sporeyard, and Tetanus. These zombified map reskins will dramatically alter the looks of Quarry, Scrapyard and Rust respectively.

Early Gameplay & Embargo
With the launch of Season 1, the Ray Gun was added to MWIII Multiplayer files and has been labeled a new weapon. Unfortunately, cheaters have forced loaded the Ray Gun early, and have been killing other players with it prior to the launch of Vortex.

Call of Duty took to Twitter to confirm that to combat these cheaters, anyone caught using the Ray Gun early will inflict self damage, on top of further repercussions from the Ricochet anticheat.

Players illicitly accessing the Ray Gun in Multiplayer will now inflict self-damage upon use.
Creators who attended the private capture event for Season 1 will reportedly be sharing early gameplay of the Vortex mode, prior to the launch of the mid season update in 2024. The embargo will likely lift just a few days before the beginning of Season 1 Reloaded.
How to Play Vortex and Use The Ray Gun
It’s been confirmed that the Vortex mode will be a Free for All experience, with one Ray Gun spawning in which players will have to fight over. The Ray Gun is confirmed to be a one hit kill, and the first player to reach the score limit will win.

Vortex will only be playable on three maps listed above, but it’s likely the ray gun will be seen again in future Zombie crossovers within MW3 Multiplayer. Vortex is expected to be a limited time mode that’s available until the end of Season one.
Vortex ‘War’s Domain’ Challenge Event
An in game event tied to Vortex titled “War’s Domain” has also leaked. The event is rumored to be an XP focussed challenge, similar to that of the COD Endowment, Makarov and Dune events which required 213,000 XP to complete. For hitting milestones in the XP event, players will be able to earn free cosmetics.

💥 It’s rumored to be in an Event releasing with the ‘Vortex’ MP mode — and it looks amazing!pic.twitter.com/kW1AXruPPZ
The grand reward at the end of the event is reportedly the animated ‘Magma’ camo, which may be a callback to Mob of The Dead. Players who equip the upcoming Horseman War Ultra skin will receive a boost towards the progression of the event, similar to previous XP events in MW3.

MW3 Zombies Vortex Onslaught Mode
While the Vortex mode has yet to release, players have expressed interest in seeing the new map reskins added into the game’s zombie mode. A mode akin to Onslaught containment could be an easy, camo farming experience for players who want extra maps to play zombies on apart from Urzikstan.

Then again, it would be a shame to see the amazing work on Satan’s Quarry, Sporeyard, and Tetanus get vaulted after just a few weeks of being live in Multiplayer.
