This weapon is truly a fun little easter egg in MWIII. Here’s how to unlock the new Sledgehammer in Season 4 of Modern Warfare III and Warzone:

“This bludgeoning behemoth isn’t designed for driving nails into wood, with a 20-pound head forged from carbon steel, beveled so the weapon doesn’t chip when striking, this monster of a melee weapon can inflict massive blunt force damage quickly, knock a foe back with a pole butt, or cause more monumental damage after a brief pause and a swing. Crack some heads with the Sledgehammer.”

HOW TO UNLOCK

To unlock the ‘Sledgehammer’ melee weapon, you must unlock it via weekly challenges. Here’s each mode’s weekly challenges that” lead to unlocking the Sledgehammer:

If you don’t complete the requirement in Season 4, you can unlock the Sledgehammer through a challenge in Season 5.

ADDITIONAL UNLOCK METHODS

Following the launch of Season 4 Reloaded, a bundle featuring a blueprint for the Sledgehammer is expected to be released. Players who purchase the pack can instantly use the Sledgehammer, regardless if they’ve unlocked the weapon through whatever requirement.

Players can also exfil with the Sledgehammer within MW3 Zombies to unlock the base version of the weapon. If a zombie slayer manages to find the Sledgehammer in loot, or if a friend drops it for them, then they can instantly unlock the new melee weapon without worrying about the requirement
