Sledgehammer is releasing the Kar98k in its full glory within Season 4 of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone. The MW3 Kar98k is identical to the version featured in Modern Warfare (2019). This modernized WW2 marksman rifle is bound to become the meta once again, as it’s been brought back by popular demand. Here’s how to unlock the new Kar98k in Season 4 of Modern Warfare III and Warzone:
THE NEW KAR98K – BREAKDOWN
The Kar98k is releasing on launch of Season 4 which is this Wednesday, May 29th at 9am PT, 11am CT and 12pm ET. According to the Season 4 blogpost, here’s everything there is to know about the new Kar98k marksman rifle:
Last seen in Call of Duty: Vanguard and found in the MWIII Marksman Rifle Loadout category after unlocking it in the Battle Pass, this archaic-looking rifle with only five rounds before a reload, and ten rounds in reserve, may get overlooked by the uninitiated. Veteran players, however, know this weapon is arguably the hardest-hitting and accurate long-range rifle there is, offering quick ADS speed, massive damage, limited flinch, small but functional iron sight, and rapid takedown potential no matter how far away your foe is.
EARLY KAR98K SNIPER GAMEPLAY
This past Saturday, select content creators were flown out to Sledgehammer to play Season 4 early. Gameplay of the Kar98k and new Multiplayer maps were previewed, as can be seen below:
BATTLE PASS UNLOCK
You can unlock the Kar98k in Season 4 of MW3 by reaching Sector 5 in the Season 4 Battle Pass, and completing that sector to unlock the Kar98k for FREE!
If you don’t complete this sector in the Battle Pass, you can unlock the Kar98k through a challenge in Season 5.
BLUEPRINT & BLACKCELL
You can also quickly get the Kar98k by purchasing the BlackCell Battle Pass upgrade at the start of Season 4 to use the Kar98k off the bat! You can also earn an additional blueprint to use for the Kar98k that’s exclusive to the BlackCell Upgrade!
Enable to access the BlackCell Variant of the Kar98k; go to Sector 20 in the Season 4 Battle Pass! The BlackCell Variant of the Kar98k comes with Cellular Corruption Tracers and the Necrosis Death Effect!
ADDITIONAL UNLOCK METHODS
Following the launch of Season 4, a bundle featuring a blueprint for the Kar98k is expected to be released. Players who purchase the pack can instantly use the Kar98k, regardless if they’ve unlocked the weapon from the Battlepass.
Players can also exfil with the Kar98k within MW3 Zombies to unlock the base version of the weapon. If a zombie slayer manages to find the Kar98k in loot, or if a friend drops it for them, then they can instantly unlock the new marksman rifle without worrying about the Battlepass.
