Modern Warfare 3 Zombies is here, and with it comes 2 new mastery camo grinds for not only MW3 weapons, but MW2 weapons as well! Today, we will explain every camo challenge for MWIII’s Borealis mastery camo in Modern Warfare III Zombies! Ready to earn Borealis? Here’s what you need to know:
BASE CAMOS
Each weapon has a different set of base camo challenges; meaning each class doesn’t have the same set of base challenges like how it is for the mastery camos in multiplayer. Bear with us, this is about to be a LONG article since we have to go through each individual weapon and their base camo challenges.

Now that you’ve completed each base camo challenge, you can move on to complete the Golden Enigma camo challenges.
Luckily, every camo challenge from here on out is the same for each weapon class; the Golden Enigma challenge for every weapon is:
- Get 100 Kills and Successfully Extract in a Single Deployment
Seriously, that’s it!
ZIRCON SCALE
Similar to Golden Enigma, the camo challenge for Zircon Scale is the same for EVERY weapon. The only difference, however, is that you’ll need a specific amount of Golden Enigma camo challenges completed in each respective weapon class:
- Assault Rifles – 6 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Battle Rifles – 3 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- SMG – 6 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Shotgun – 3 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- LMG – 4 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Marksman Rifles – 4 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Sniper Rifles – 3 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Pistol – 4 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
- Launchers – 1 Golden Enigma Camo Challenge
- Melee – 2 Golden Enigma Camo Challenges
After you’ve obtained the right amount of Golden Enigma camos for your respective class; this is the Zircon Scale camo challenge for EVERY weapon:
- Get 300 Kills while your weapon is Pack-A-Punched
SERPENTINITE (ANIMATED)
For the Serpentinite camo challenge, you’ll unlock it after you’ve completed 36 Zircon Scale camo challenges! This means at launch you’ll have to do every weapon. NOTE: Whenever a new weapon gets added, that counts for one of the 36; meaning, if two weapons get added in a new season, then you’re allowed to skip whichever two weapons you don’t want to do!
Once you’ve completed 36 of the Zircon Scale camo challenges; this is the Serpentinite camo challenge for EVERY weapon:
- Get 10 Special or Elite Zombie Kills
BOREALIS (ANIMATED)
To unlock Borealis, you must complete 36 Serpentinite camo challenges; meaning if you have completed every mastery challenge as stated previously, then you will have unlocked Borealis! As stated before, you only need 36 Serpentinite camo competitions; meaning if a new weapon is added, you are able to skip certain weapons you don’t want to do in replacement!
